Allowing extras to work for free and reducing movie copyringhts to 20 years woould mess with the ability of the current studio system to preach their values or qoute unqoute values.

I legit think it could lead to a more ideologicaly diverse entertainemnt landscape.

They had everything 2 years ago in terms of legilsative power.
Ok I'll bite. Why would those two things lead to a more ideologically diverse entertainment landscape?

I think that OPs problem is that he sees all those movies doing well while doing such wild things as having lgbtq characters or strong female leads and he's mad that he doesn't feel invited to the party.

I don't think OP actually knows what he wants, he just knows what he doesn't want and thus desires less of that, but can offer no real alternative or contrast.
To a Metoo, PC. Lameo party when PG 13 movies make the most money?

does not sound like a party.

Also what do you get out of caping for big studio movies?

You can just say it right here, I'm not going to read National Review.

it won't kill you.

Tell me who competes against them

Firstly, Hollywood is a euphamistic term for major studios, so they compete against each other.

Secondly, a monopoly would mean that no entertainment can be released without them. That's not true either. I, for instance, watch a fair bit of British television. My wife watches some Canadian TV. Neither of these sources are Hollywood based.

Breaking unions and shortening copyright hurts conservative workers and artists as much as it does liberal workers and artists.

I'm a content creator myself--you leave my copyrights alone.

Yes. There are 500 to 600 movies released in the US every year. People watch what they want to watch.

And the fact is 'Hollywood' and other studios and distributors all target the markets where they make the most money. That tends to be youth markets.

This all reminds me of a game where you name a movie, and everyone else gives explanations as to why its liberal trash.

Quick: Star Wars.

This is the Internet age.

Notice that Netflix does very well without movie theaters.

"Hollywood" may be most interested in making as much money as possible, but once you lay aside the need to prioritize profit first it's quite easy to distribute the message.

I look at some of the fan productions of things like Star Wars on YouTube and I'm astounded by the quality of their production on shoestring budgets.

Quick: Star Wars.
Star Wars: Princess Leia is a strong woman that does not want to be saved by the cocky Han Solo. The film is a misandrist's dream that turns the male hero into a coward (i.e., he runs away from the empire), and turns the woman into this know-it-all SJW feminist guiding the rebellion. A woman being so pivotal to a rebellion is pure SJW garbage.

New movie: The Matrix

it won't kill you.
You brought up the point, it's up to you argue that point, not tell someone to read something.

New movie: The Matrix

Leather-clad, non-comformist, computer hackers, led by black terrorist, declare rebellion against authoritative Agents. Buddhist imagery and philosophy, as well as EDM throughout. Characters resort to martial arts instead of guns.

Next up: Jaws

Liberal environmentalism prevents the "healthy culling" of marine life, creating the conditions for large predators to enter shallower waters, thus resulting in the killing and maiming of humans. In an affront to capitalism and profits, the film's antagonists demand that city officials close the beaches, thus ruining the holiday weekend for businesses.

Next up: The Muppet Movie

Frog leaves Florida panhandle behind to become Hollywood elite. Rejects capitalist offer to become a spokes-frog for frog's legs (suggests vegetarianism). Massive carpooling hurts the automobile industry. Several perverted inter-species relationships. Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem clearly promote drug use.

Next: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

Illegal alien enters the United States and is aided by Californians who hide him from authorities in their "sanctuary city." The illegal encourages bad behavior, including disobedience at school by pushing environmentalism through the freeing of animals. Illegal also encourages sexual behavior among young people by causing boy to kiss girl. However, this kiss was also without consent, thus boy is made a #MeToo example as he is pulled out of class for discipline.

Next: The Goonies

200 mil is 200 mill on the big screen. I would say what is really gonna push them is more quality foreign movies poushing them out of China and some other markets. Bollywood actually is getting popular there. They are ramping up their own blockbsuters and CCP has money...

Theater has always been edgy, going all the way back to Shakespeare and even earlier to Euripedes (I mean, he made a play about a guy that marries his own mother!). It's not the acting profession's job to uphold a particular cultural vision. In fact the only people who really talk like this historically are fascists who believe art should only further their national mythology.

A large percentage of the rich people are Progressives.

Or at least if they aren't, their values don't align with paleoconservativism or reactionary politics. I would venture to guess most are of that type.
