I Especially liked-"Whatever the reason, pretty much everything of and in the world that is loved and accepted has some kind of anti-christ or anti-christian influence behind it."
I had been a Catholic Christian my whole life until my dad died. Then I read the bible from beginning to end. And absorbed it. And loved it. Now, there is a constant battle in my head, because to really get away from evil, you have to leave the world. We are swimming in evil. Magic, Santa Clause, Easter egg hunts, "Anything goes" denominations, Astrology, Celebrity worship, Sports worship etc. I almost destroyed myself trying to live pure. I avoid evil when I can. I try to help others when I can. And I "draw the line" when it comes to anything occult. But your statement above about the world being antichrist, is spot on. I was raised on rock and roll. I was also born and raised in Memphis Tennessee. My Uncles went to school with Elvis. And I witnessed how he changed the entire world, myself included. Music is spiritually powerful. Much more than folks realize. After I read the Bible, I read the lyrics to all my favorite groups. And I discovered that rock and roll is very anti-christian. Some groups were very anti-christian. I have had to learn to moderate my thirst for holiness, because its not here. I have changed my choice of music groups to those who do not glorify evil. And pray for God to have his day and defend his name soon, or give me the strength to make it to my death. "Magic" is engrained in alot of lyrics in r n r. And Disney. We just have to find a way to be moderate, and prudent, as to what is just living in an evil world and getting by, Or consumed by it and part of it. Our home is not here. Sorry for rambling. Peace
Wonderful to hear a bit of your story! The battle has already been won by Christ. So evil's time is short and on a leash.
It's not so much 'getting away from evil' but to be aware of it and with the lord, ask him how to respond to it. Whether it is not listening to it or maybe you will learn more about your enemy by it.
The main point is to not be ensnared by the ways of the world. You can still interact with it if you are able to avoid being ensnared.
Yes, it is important to know what's going on in the world. That there is an intelligence behind it that is anti-christian. However, we still are called to interact in the world and help people where they are at towards Christ.
When you have had your eyes opened as to what's going on, you are able to navigate your way through the world helping people (who want help) out of the darkness. But yeah, if you want to be a Christ follower, you will be rejected by the world. So that is possibly one of the reasons why there are so many luke-warm Christians... Sort of have one foot in the world, one foot in Christianity.
Romans 12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
