Hello All

Well, the answer is two part.Hello All
Another simple question. So where does Scripture say the Beast is now?
Hi
Well I guess that depends on your view of prophecy. Some believe all the beast are the same others do not. But either way scripture says they are somewhere I am asking where.
Part 2Hello Doug
"Part 1
the beast is currently in the bottomless pit, as the disembodied spirit of an ancient person."
Do you have scripture that says this? I mean the second part.
Maybe, I didn't properly address your question. Are you referring to me saying that the person goes through a multitude of roles before becoming the beast. And is alive today?Hello Doug

I personally don't think the beast in Revelation 17:8a is a dead (pure) human being. I am thinking along the terms of someone who likely was part nephillim - Nimrod. Or think back to the garden of Eden, the most crafty beast of all beasts - who himself conspired with Satan.Hi Doug
No I am asking if you have scripture that says the Beast is a disembodied spirit of a dead Human Being
The beast in the bottomless pit is not Satan, if that is what you are thinking.Hi Doug
Wow smack me with a surprise stick. Never thought that I would hear that come from a 70th weeker. I would agree.... although I do not think we need to speculate who the Beast in the Pit is at all.
While I will agree that there are fallen angels in the bottomless pit, I don't think the beast is a fallen angel because of the wording in Revelation 17:8a - was, and is not. Angels do not die. The beast has to be some creature that has experienced dying.Hi Doug
Nope not thinking that at all. The Beast is in the Pit.............. Satan is not. The Beast in the pit is the Fallen Angel Azzazel know and worshiped by the Canaanites and others as Baal.
I would add that is is very confusing because early post 300 AD and Medieval writers tending to blend the two together into one. The Beast and Lucifer are two separate beings that go to the lake of fire at two separate times over 1,000 years apart
The Doctrine of Imminence basically implies that there must always have been, and there is now, a man waiting "in the wings" so to speak, ready to take on the duties of the antichrist when the Day of the Lord begins.Hello All

Matthew, Luke and Acts gives us an idea who the beast could be in the 1st century....it works in cahoots with the Devil......Hello All

The prophecies concerning the person who becomes the Antichrist can only be in an age when transportation and knowledge and increased. Time of the end. Daniel 12:4-7.The Doctrine of Imminence basically implies that there must always have been, and there is now, a man waiting "in the wings" so to speak, ready to take on the duties of the antichrist when the Day of the Lord begins.
IOW, since no man, not even Christ himself, knows the day or the hour of the beginning of the end times, there must always have been an antichrist walking the earth. If the Tribulation didn't begin in his lifetime, as is true for almost 2,000 years, then he dies, and another in the next generation takes his place ... until the one in whose lifetime the end times begins becomes the actual, true antichrist.
Bear in mind this only works for those who believe the antichrist is a real person who eventually becomes indwelled by Satan and not some allegorical, mythical construct.
