  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, if you look at the Greek, the word for " cloud " really has the connotation of " theophanic " cloud, in the sense of something being obscured or hidden, { also a multitude of people } while the Greek word for " air " is cognate to the Hebrew " ruach ", meaning " spirit, breath, air,etc "

So..

God is hidden in the world, and in scripture, many times, it's a constant theme

Yet God's spirit is poured out on mankind in the last days..

The " rapture " refers to nothing other than God's spirit being poured out on mankind in these last days

You are " caught up in the clouds " { the multitudes } and in the " air " { spirit }

There is zero evidence in the Bible or reason for being whisked away into the air like some silly movie

Also, now that I think about it...

In Revelation the " child " is also " harpazo " { raptured } up to the throne

Would you like to explain that one ?

:)
I think that is what happened in Acts 1:9-11.

Sure, I've read the book. [emoji6]. But if abaddon is a synonym for Sheol, doesn't that make you wonder if we're missing something here?
Abaddon is the beast coming out of the bottomless pit who will kill the two witnesses....
Revelation 11:7
7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

-----Abaddon will be part of the Satanic trilogy...
1-[Abaddon in the role of the the antichrist (angels can appear in human form)]
2-[the false prophet]
3-Satan empowering them Revelation 12 ,Revelation 13.

Definition and meaning:ABADDON a-bad'-on ('abhaddon, 'ruin,' 'perdition,' ... in Job 26:6 and Proverbs 26:6 it is parallel to Sheol; ...in Job 28:22 it is parallel to Death. job 31:12 says sin is a fire that burns to destruction. So in the Old Testament Abaddon means the place of utter ruin, death, desolation, or destruction.

The angel of the abyss is called Destruction or Destroyer because his task is to oversee the devastation of the inhabitants of the earth, although it is curious that his minions are allowed only to torture and not to kill. His identity is a matter of dispute. Some make him Satan himself, while others take him to be only one of Satan's many evil subordinates.

Its not that my brother. It is just that it is hard to keep a story straight when they are making it up as they go.

YOU on the other hand have the Word of God which never changes!

Oh yeah, I know what you're saying. I've dealt with a few of them numerous times already. I see you're getting acquainted with them. Good thing you have thick skin as they are all post-tribbers and love to attack the pre-trib rapture. Anyhow, welcome to the eschatology forum of CF. Good to see another preach the bible.

Thank you for the thoughts.

You know, I actually do not care if anyone argues their position on the Rapture, or Tribulation or actually anything at all. I am more that willing to discuss Biblical theology with anyone.

My experience is that in every single case I know of, there comes a point when those who argue their point and realize how wrong they are according to the Bible......that is when they they go for the personal attacks on the messenger instead of speaking to the issue at hand.

Yes. Jonah prayed from hell not heaven. He later prayed from inside the fish.

Question........Do you have any thoughts about Jonah actually being dead?

It is my thinking that he actually died and God resurrected Jonah from the dead.

I do not argue that point......just my thinking.

Nice when two brothers agree! Kinda sad that what they agree on ain't going to happen.
This thread is 'Where in Revelation is a rapture mentioned'. No one has yet come up with any scripture proving a rapture removal to heaven, from anywhere in the Bible or at any time in the future. Eventually Heaven and God's Throne come to dwell on earth. Revelation 21:3
The whole rapture theory is a Satanic deception, it conflicts with what God has planned, as told us thru His prophets.

As for personal attacks, so often when I refute the false rapture teaching, I am consigned to tribulation for my sin of disbelief. I have been seriously abused and denigrated by rapture believers, who being unable to provide Biblical proof of their comfortable and easy out idea, treat those who prove their error, in a very unpleasant and unchristian manner.
Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 5:4 that we Christians should know about the Day of the Lord's wrath, the next prophesied event, that will come upon everyone the whole world over. Luke 21:35 Do you?

There are many scriptures for the proof:

[1 Corinthians 15:20-23; 15:51-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Thessalonians 2:1; Revelation 3:10; 4:4; 5:1-10; 7:9-17; 11:1; 12:12; 13:6; 17:14; 18:4; 19:1-9; 19:14; 20:4.... those already on thrones]

It is the devil who refutes this proof and he has a motive

Do not let him snooker you into the tribulation period [Revelation 12:12]

You see the problem here with your comment????

You keep saying that no one has shown you the Rapture in the Revelation.

My first thought is.....why do you have to be shown the Rapture in the Revelation?
Is it not acceptable when it is presented to you in 1 Thess., and 1 Corth., and Romans and Titus and on and on and on.

The birth of Jesus Christ is NOT mentioned in the book of John. Does that mean it did not happen my brother?

The birth of Jesus is not in the book of Mark. Does that mean Mark forgot or did not know or it did not happen.

Do you see what your thinking can lead to???? Confusion. Deception. I encourage you to think hard about this.

Not only that but you have been shown the Rapture in Revelation 4:1. It is not that you have been shown, it is that you refuse to accept what you are in fact shown.

It should actually be actually correctly said by you......"Although it has been shown to me the Rapture in the Revelation, I do not accept it or believe it".

Many years ago I had a professor who said......
"There is an old warning that says -- "Don't ask the question, if you can't stand the answer!"

You cannot say, "God, show me your answer and then I'll decide if I want to accept it."

This will cause the promise to be denied -- it is NOT according to his will.

You see my friend, we are not called to PROVE anything. We are simply called and instructed to BELIEVE!

Those are not proof. They can be used to support the notion, but unless the notion is first proven there's nothing to support. So again, those are not proof.

That's the difference between proof and evidence. Evidence supports a notion but proof establishes it as fact.

Ever notice how both sides in a court case have evidence to support their case? But if only one side is correct how can both sides have evidence? That's because evidence doesn't necessarily prove anything, especially if it's all circumstantial. And that's the case with these scriptures.

So anytime somebody personally attacks you, you think it's because they realized they're wrong and they don't want to admit it? There couldn't possibly be any other reason?

Ludicrous logic. People don't and didn't live on earth after getting resurrected. The only exception was Lazarus....but there was a reason which but I'm sure you don't know either.
.
Really? Jesus didn't live on earth after being resurrected?

Not one of these scriptures says 'God will take His people to heaven'.
I have refuted all of them before and some actually infer the opposite to a removal. Why keep showing how bereft of proof the false rapture theory is?
It is the devil who refutes this proof and he has a motive
Yes it is Satan who brings deception:
The other gospel of the Rapture Cult masks the profound importance of the “Hour of Temptation” in the end times and we should not be deceived by the false theories and fables. 2 Corinthians 2:11, 2 Timothy 4:3-4
The fact is, the modern false prophets have erected a theological monstrosity via the media magnified characterization of the tribulation when, in fact, the Scriptures repeatedly warn the greatest threat faced by the final generation is deception, as opposed to persecution:
The disciples came unto him privately, saying…what shall be the SIGN of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. Matthew 24:3-4

You talk in circles

Does anyone really care whether you desire to receive the Lord's wrath in the tribulation?

I don't

You had better think about this

The preterist scoffs at the Lord's coming judgment

You had better think about this as well and what it means

If you are alive at the time what will your fate be?

And you will answer .... there is not going to be a tribulation from the Lord

So what is your beef

There are people who believe in the Lord's promise to bring His coming judgment and that He will not subject them

You have no way to prove your preteristic view with any scripture, or combination of scriptures on the matter

So who cares about you?

The same people take a stand upon their position that you refute

No body really cares that you do .... get it?

So what is your motive?

Your argument means nothing to one who knows the truth on the matter

And the same could care less about what you think

What you rapture believers present is inferences, suppositions and sheer wishful thinking.
I oppose the error of a rapture because I know what the prophets wrote about God's plans for His people.
You completely miss the great message of the New Testament, of how God has cast aside His ethnic people and gained a Spiritual Christian people, who are now the Israel of God. Galatians 6:16
Ephesians 1:11 In Christ, we receive the inheritance......
I asked you to read Psalms 107:1-43 Did you? Who is it talking about?
