Mark 6
1Jesus
a left that place and went back to his hometown,
b and his disciples followed him.
2When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were utterly amazed. “Where did this man get all these things?” they asked. “What is this wisdom that has been given to him? What great miracles are being done by his hands!
3This is the builder,
c the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon, isn’t it? His sisters are here with us, aren’t they?” And they were offended by him.
4Jesus had been telling them, “A prophet is without honor only in his hometown, among his relatives, and in his own home.”
5He couldn’t perform a miracle there except to lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6He was amazed at their unbelief. Then he went around to the villages and continued teaching.
Again, this is in the context of convincing people to follow God, not the world/Egypt. In other words, Jesus didn't come to empty the hospitals of his day.

And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them? …

19Jesus
n told them, “You unbelieving generation! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him to me!”
20So they brought the boy
o to him. When the spirit saw Jesus,
p it immediately threw the boy
q into convulsions. He fell on the ground and kept rolling around and foaming at the mouth.
21Then Jesus
r asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” He said, “Since he was a child.
22The spirit
s has often thrown him into fire and into water to destroy him. But if you are able to do anything, have pity on us and help us!”
23Jesus told him, “‘If you are able?’ Everything is possible for the person who believes!”
24With tears flowing,
t the child’s father at once cried out, “I do believe! Help my unbelief!”
You know, the children were weak. They needed bread to get them through the wilderness. The crises and the victims only provided the opportunity...
