I'm expressly against healing ministries in the vein of those who 'touch to heal' and whatnot, as I find it rooted in pagan practices and not historic Christianity, in which healings were dramatic and obviously of God and were real and lasting.

I'm against healing ministries as you describe them. I'm all for the kind of healing ministries we see carried out in hospital settings, but I do believe that the costs associated with them have gotten out of control and they have lost their diaconal roots.

Indeed, I deem the hospital meeting kind of healings as products of prayer ministries who ask God to heal. The 'healing ministries' as we see on the big TV screens... they're heterodox and pagan in origin and merely have Christian lingo written all over them to invite blind sheep to get fed 'sheep poison.'

I believe Cessationism to be entirely biblical, so anything charismatic comes under intense and unrelenting scrutiny in my eyes.

I would worry about healing 'ministries' as being prideful things. But there are healers out there like the late Solanus Casey, who healed all sorts of people and did it humbly without making a dime. Healing happens. It is not even rare. Just watch out for such 'ministries'. They sound too much like Elmer Gantry.

To be clear, I'm referring to the actual healing work that doctors in hospitals do. The practice of medicine.

Jesus still heals today, I have seen it many times.

Yes there are fakes, but His healing love is still available.
Shriner's hospital loses 1 out of 10 children to cancer, where are the healers? Why let these kids suffer and die?

Indeed. His love is a 'forever healing' of the spirit from the bondage to sin.

AND the healing work of doctors and nurses done in hospitals is a Christian work, or was initially a Christian work. While the profession of doctor is considerably older, the profession of nursing is Christian and the hospital itself was a Christian idea from the middle ages. Nurses still wear vestiges of monastic habits from the orders they came from. The monastic nurses combined prayer and care. The hospital chaplains pray in conjunction with the work of doctors. The basis for this cooperation can be found in the book of Tobit. The animosity between spiritual and medical can be found in Christian Science, which is neither Christian nor science.

Why don't the healing ministers come? They're all for the rabid publicity, that is!

I dont trust healers. People die all the time, but where are the healers?
I don't get your comment at all. It's kind of like saying the following: People die unsaved all the time. Where was God?

I think the type of healers we're talking about are kinda different.

No, im not asking where God is, im asking where the healers are. I believe they are absent because they are fakes.

The real healer is the Lord Who heals with perfection.

Hes not healing these kids, why?

I think it's in His will who gets healed or not. I don't believe we have power over the supernatural.

"Healers" appear to be very good at curing ailments on stage, but considerably less so in hospitals. They're good at undiagnosed illnesses, an bad at obvious debilitating maladies. Short form, for the most part they appear to be frauds. Let 'em go empty some hospitals, then I'll take them seriously.
