Yo, tell me why 2024 has literally sucked so far; like, seriously, what the heck is going on?!

I agree with you and Dragonfox. There are definitely some positives that can come from networking with others on social media. It does have its value. I think it was initially a better app and concept, but over time, it devolved into a platform for people to air out their own opinions and promote their own ideas and themselves essentially. I think that is what makes it a dangerous tool if it's not used properly. It facilitates narcissism (if someone already has that tendency). However, I do think you can follow good groups and pages, connect with others, and even meet others you might not interact with in your daily life. I think you just have to know how to use it. Personally, I decided to delete mine years ago, because I felt I was better off without it. I haven't missed it. Now, the account I do have is for the messenger app, and that's been helpful to have.Yes on the politics. That change came around 2011-2012.
Interesting that you deleted your account. I just had lunch with a friend that I also work with and she said she only has a Facebook account because her husband tags her. She's 31. I propose that she delete her account, because we were talking about the friends that aren't really our friends but you can't get rid of them from work without hurt. But when I propose that and she liked the idea, she said that she's struggling right now working with a health coach on her screen time. She has a habit that she doesn't think that she could cut it out.
I take breaks rather than deleting all of it. But I am thinking about when I get back on in the summer of purging most of my photos because of the new AI threats. I've gained too many frenemies (plus great friends) in the workplace through social media.
It is!!!! Hence my sister just text me a crying emoji because she missed my birthday but.3 days. Social media cont act as a calendar, news, video chats with my niece and nephew (she's two states away) and updates on what's happening with family and friends. And coworkers. I never would have the strong relationships I've built sinc 2020 without it. My running adventures and gardening has been the main talking point, besides cooking.
I had an Instagram account that was hacked, once I created a new one. I've not let many people in. It's been my retreat place from the masses. My sister shows photos on there that she doesn't on Facebook.
Yes! Yes! And yes!!!! It's hard initially.
That's great! And great that you stuck with alternatives. Not many people have.
Thinking of and praying for you. I've got a meeting coming up at work but wanted to stop by and share this song with you that came on the radio this morningYo, tell me why 2024 has literally sucked so far; like, seriously, what the heck is going on?!

The fist movie I saw in theaters was the first Harry Potter. I was in kindergarten at the time. The first movie theater memory I have is seeing Mufasa’s ghost in The Lion King. I was so amazed!

Hugs. There are some smart ones though. And many that need to hear the gospel of Jesus. You are the light.
