Most of my dreams I forgot to do my homework (almost always math), or forgot to practice for middle school band.

But last night I had a dream I had to babysit a baby bear. Scary! But the mother bear wrote me a check when I was done!

Sampa, your experience is close to mine. Shoes! Gah! I know the pain. I am having a hard time as my left toebox (only—not the heel, mind you) is a half-size wider and my feet are otherwise a little narrow, sooo… very few shoes fit. I, too, have spent a lot on shoes in one go only to return all of them.

Good job on finding stuff used. Clothes new are often of a quality (and design) not worthy of their price. I won’t pay $80 for a polyester sack blouse with no thought put into the design. In the end, I don’t have the figure that can rock the relaxed styles filling the racks the last few years. I need fitted silhouettes which are not in vogue, but I’m managing. Just buy-and-return on repeat. I may just pick up sewing again—might be a better use of my time and money better spent.

I save money a few ways. I aim for a 80-20 ratio for my wardrobe: 80% should work for all of my social dancing, work, and church activities and the 20% can be niche pieces that only work for one of those. I try to get a lot of mileage out of what I buy. Also, I keep a tailor’s measuring tape in my purse so that when I’m thrifting, I can tell without trying it on if it will fit at all. I started this during the pandemic when fitting rooms were closed. It's been eye-opening how inconsistent sizing can be. I'm also ruthless about returns these days. I use to just make stuff work and then donate, but now... if it doesn't fit? I want my money back, lol.

I’m finding that fun accessories dress up my boring basics rather nicely. All in all the process is tedious but it is definitely fun! And finding that great piece is very rewarding.

Best of luck! My department head has been donating some of her shoes to me since she is one size higher, and with her schedule she just does not have time for returns, even mailing. She's of a different mindset though, I think she goes for cheaper brands, quantity or quality. I go for quality, which takes longer to find, higher cost and less variety. I can tell sometimes by her looks that she would rather see me in pumps than Merrill's. But I only have one set of feet that need to last me till I'm 100yrs old. Heels will come with a higher profession, meetings and socials.

Ann Taylor is my favorite for fitting. High end cosignment can be your friend too.

Dancing is something I have not entered yet, but someday. Right now my wardrobe is divided between 3 closets - Side1 closet yardwork/running/gym wear/swimwear/snowplowing clothes
side 2 work clothes/dresses

Closet 2 - shopping and church clothes

Closet 3 - coats
Everything is switched out seasonally from totes.
I even have nap clothes - JCrew sweatpants (never worn outside the house, not even for mail).
try to get a lot of mileage out of what I buy.
My housework and yardwork clothes get so much mileage they have holes. I try to pass other clothes onto a friend's teenage daughter. A compliment to me since she's a fashionista that puts together the families wardrobe for photos.
if it doesn't fit? I want my money back, lol.
I've always been that way, I fight to the past cent. Many times with Amazon.

You are a rare one though and that you are able to sew. You have a lot more flexibility. My mother has always sewn, but I never picked that up. Doesn't mean I couldn't in the future :)

Just found out I have Monday off due to New Year weekend.

A little surprised. Not sure why they waited so long to announce it.

Made a major decision and closed down the last of my online dating accounts. This one I can't ever get back in without paying over $100 plus to reactivate. Trusting God with my decision and don't want to see anymore alerts.

Its supposedly the elite of the elite but I find it hard to believe as it's a ghost town that seems to preys on people with money to throw away on a monthly basis. $100-$200 a mth at the lowest tier? I made a couple friends through there.

Considering how much money is involved, you might want to hire a local matchmaker instead. You can get references, they should vet people better, and there should be less stringing along. It's too easy for online dating services to use shady tactics in an effort to keep repeat customers.

.sorry had to edit. I now realize why I threw away and destroyed the music and CDs from the drama years ago. Reading what it was all really about is not what I had envisioned when I was listening to it I'm a language I didn't understand.

I guess they wouldn't be charging that amount if people weren't paying it. But they'd need to give some sort of ironclad guarantee that I'd meet someone for me to even contemplate paying so much.

Yeah right! You have to be well financed to be on the paid version. Lots of CEOs are on that sight. It's really hard to get accepted on that site though. There's a long waiting list.

Nope no guarantees. But people do vote on your behavior, so you are kept accountable. There won't be any rude comments.

I have a friend I made through one of the forums there, she paid but only complained the prospects didn't work out. I think long ago in another country she had servants (I don't think she called them staff, it might just be the wording in that country), so maybe she comes from money, but she also worked hard for a long time and took more than a year off because of the stress. Myself, my emergency savings is not that advanced.

Aww, I love rain :3

Sampa--deleting the online dating profiles I think is a good move. :)
Yes!!!!! Me too. I feel relief going into 2023 and letting go of a shackle. Bring accepted into an elite site or even a group maybe an ego boost, but it's not something I need to maintain if it brings the quality of my life down with one more unnecessary task, at this time.

Always best to stay humble
Great to feel Good about yourself but the "ego" tends to separate us from the LORD,
I've spent most of my life a "slave" to 'self' even though I've always thought myself to be 'humble'
even now i put myself before the LORD still in many ways I shouldn't:confused:

@J Mick I have been without for two years because of autoimmune so I feel for you. Losing some of it again, possibly stress, harder as a gal tho in my experience than guys. The ones that told me just to wear a hat don't understand the desire to wear a dress and heels once in a while. Wearing a wig tho was revealing to how superficial people can be and it really made me do a double take for those women who have thick locks. I was the gal from friends.

@sampa From small interactions I've had with you,
It's been a Blessing.
You seem to have a very edifying personality and a good sense of humor.
I'd Say that alone makes you a Winner in My Book:oldthumbsup:
I will be praying over your health in regards to this 'autoimmune' problem.

May the LORD Bless You and Keep YOU

Aww thank you @J Mick ! I hope that I have been edifying to others as well here. My humor still needs improvement, holy spirit is working on that one. I've always had a serious air, but I'm goofy and flawed at the same time. I'm really hoping praying the hair will resolve along with other issues in 2023.

Cleaning! Cleaning! Cleaning! I can't imagine what it would be like to have a but that's bigger than what I do to clean around. Vacuumed to the mattress.. but if I was married, I probably get some help from him.

Got part of my Christmas lights down from outside while the weather is warm. Lift up my clear twinkle lights and blue too welcome in the new year. This is the most cleaning I've done in 6 days in a row that I can remember. It's all been in a slow pace though. That includes online things too. Radio got turned on once this week for a couple hours.

Phew I'm glad CF stopped snowing. I was tired of shoveling every day.
I ended up turning off the holiday decoration because the snow on top of the avatars irritated me. I briefly saw the New Year's decorations before logging in.
