I'm honestly not sure what to make regarding the accusations against Ravi Zacharias. It disturbs me, whether true or not.

I find it hard to believe that someone with such a powerful testimony would end up in such a depraved state. Even then, God would have brought discipline if he truly belonged to Him and was engaging in said behavior.

And, of course, my little bit of need is in company with thousands in this part of the state. The upside, it will get up to 50 tonight. I might break out my shorts, lol.

Thank goodness. I’m glad the weather is nice. That’s a plus.

I need to get a chest freezer, and a generator, lol.

Yeah you do. ;)

You're buying bulk locally? That's where it's at. I have a friend who sells 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 cow.

I began compiling a list if organic producers a few years ago. Direct sources I could turn to for everything. When the pandemic hit I expected shortages and compromises in plants. I contacted a local farmer and ordered beef and pork.

Pardon the crop. My name is on it.

I can't remember the price, but I worked it out and it was definitely cheaper per lb. Of course, I need a chest freezer for a 1/4 cow, lol. And, like you, it would break my heart to lose it. That brings us back to the generator. I see my future opening before my eyes. ^_^

There’s 2 methods for pricing. You want to work with someone who charges you by hanging weight. See this article for more information. Most estimate 10-15% loss from that number.

Thus, if the live weight of your steer is 1200 pounds and you want 1/4 side, you’re looking at 720 pounds after trimming. Your 1/4 portion is 180 pounds minus a little loss. Assuming you take everything, you’ll bring home 160 pounds of meat. Larger breeds have greater yield. You should have 4 boxes like mine for a 1/4 of beef.

The price per pound is seriously low. I have organic grass fed beef and pork. I get fish and seafood through similar channels.

You choose your cuts. If you want steaks stick with the hind. The fore has larger cuts. I opted for pork belly over bacon to avoid nitrates. And chose ground pork instead of burgers and sausage. I wanted to season them myself.

You’ll need a chart. I advise you to take inventory and check off things as you use them. Get wire baskets for storage. Group similar items together. Upright freezers are more expensive and have easy access. You’ll get more room with a chest. Go through GE Outlet. They’re cheaper and don’t charge a delivery fee.

Talk to the farmer before you buy the freezer. You need a clear idea of the package size and storage requirements. 5.0 cubits is plenty for one person. You may be better off getting an 1/8th and placing a second order. Especially if you want to store other things. I wanted fruit but there’s no room!

And then get my recipes together for the first 3 days of the fast.

I don’t eat when I fast. Three days is my max. I’ll have water and coffee to prevent headaches. I used to do sunrise to sunset fasts a couple times per week if I couldn’t set aside a day of focus. I got healed during that period.

Here's the books I will be going through on Wednesday before things start on Saturday. There is a Daniel fast devotional in there that's pretty good.

I have the books. My daughter went through them. She usually has a consumption correction during Lent. Earlier warnings were ignored. She does things the hard way. Coffee has come up more than once and the last was a plant-based diet. During Covid. :D

It looks like you’re prepared. I’m familiar with OHSG and Forks Over Knives. Are you making a diet shift?

Thankie. Truth be told I have great retention. Answering questions feeds my memory bank. :tutu:

But there’s a lot of stuff I don’t know or bother learning.

As for Ravi, only he and God know the truth and the parties if applicable.

In my experience, people called to work which places them in the public eye receive significant instruction and counsel from the Holy Spirit. He addresses connections and surrounds you with trustworthy believers whose gifts and maturity will aid you.

The Lord picked all my friends and business associates. He warns me about wrong alliances too. Whenever I operate outside of His parameters it blows up in my face. I’ve learned my lesson.

His statement is concerning. That isn’t rocket science. Time alone with the opposite sex can cause compromises. Especially when you’re married.

While the Lord brought me friends. He didn’t send a male confidant. He sent women. There’s no chance of impropriety or misunderstandings.

Reputation is key when you’re the public eye. They’re looking for ammunition. Christians should expect attacks and behave accordingly. Avoid questionable people who’ll mar your image or ruin your witness. They aren’t worth it.

I'm wondering what that could possibly be. Hegel's dialectic? The number of angels that can stand on the head of a pin? Who won the World Series in 1949?

You seem to know something about most everything that matters. All the respect, for sure. Do you have a photographic memory, or something similar? Whatever it is, it's impressive.

I was going to suggest pilates. But since cara’s here I tagged her instead.
Isn't pilates yoga basically?

I like the way they look in clothes. Bulk breaks the line.
Hmm

She’s cool. She does crazy workouts. I don’t do all that! I like pilates, cycling and barre.

If your neck is sore check your posture and the chair. The ones with headrests are better for long-term sitting.
Yes, posture is a struggle. Exercise helps b/c you have the strength to sit naturally & your body isn't being weakened by having to rely on being contorted all day. For some reason, sitting w/ good posture takes more effort then standing w/ good posture

The problem is two-fold. You need honest feedback. If you can’t get it from her it should come from those who know you well. But you have to ask the right question and allow them to share their insight.

You need them to tell you why they think you’re struggling and what may be turning off prospects. And you have to be willing to hear the truth.

The other option is asking strangers. Many do it online but the setting is key. You need to talk to people who are succeeding where you struggle who won’t mince their words to spare your feelings.

I’m not advocating cruelty. But sometimes the truth hurts. Getting over the hump is the goal. Having people tell you what you want to hear is counterproductive. If you’re getting in your way you need to know it.
If you as in me, the problem was I couldn't generate sparks where I couldn't get past basic greeting type conversations to more in-depth, fun conversations, or I'd feel like I'd just get passed over, or was even too shy to try, or never built a relationship w/ one to ask out of a group setting. Past couple years, meeting single women in a compatible dating age range has been the struggle. I meet every other kind of person but that kind's elusive.

I can’t speak to that. The Christians I know were married when we met or in relationships. The women I knew in the past didn’t initiate. They wanted leaders and taking the initiative for its commencement detracted from that.

There’s nothing more delightful than hearing a man admit his desire to make you his when you return his affections. Then you know your place. You’re not dithering and trying to decode his words and behavior. Spelling it out makes it easier for both.
Definitely. & I am expecting to initiate it. I'm just saying it can happen.

Agreed. She amazes me. Polymath, perhaps?

I was prepared to say no but you got me here:

This is expressed in the term Renaissance man, often applied to the gifted people of that age who sought to develop their abilities in all areas of accomplishment: intellectual, artistic, social, physical, and spiritual.

A gentleman or courtier of that era was expected to speak several languages, play a musical instrument, write poetry and so on, thus fulfilling the Renaissance ideal.

My ideal is an accomplished woman in the traditional sense. ;)

Yes, I wish it was an option and after I was hospitalized in 2011 and diagnosed with lupus things changed. I tried to do a sunset fast and it was too much for me. So since 2012 off and on I've gone through periods of a Daniel fast and it has lengthened over time.so although I have these limitations, it doesn't mean that I don't want to find a way to set myself apart from the world and draw near to Him. Last year was very fruitful, I think a total of 45 days.

you making a diet shift?
The diet shift is just for the fast. I give up coffee, but I don't give up black tea. Mostly because of the Lupus and the fatigue that comes with it. It's optional, but I give up cinnamon and honey also. Personal convictions. Although I would like cocoa, that also is given up.

During the media fast, one of the things I have looked forward to, is listening to old Christian CDs. I was debating on some Wow Christian CDs to purchase but then realized that the library might have it. I found them today and put them on reserve. I usually have withdrawals at the beginning because of separation from most of the comforts that I have with the internet and social media.

Unfortunately a couple times I got sick at the beginning of the fast, it could be detox. Last year that happened that I had to take 2 days off work. It can be discouraging, and most people would give it up if they get sick because of the inconvenience, but thankfully the Lord has helped me to continue. In the past the sickness or cold or whatever comes about might be for a week. It might have to do with overindulgence or not taking care of myself before the fast. I've seen amazing things prior to 2011 with full fast and wish that I could go without food for extended times. I have gone for length of time without food, but not as a spiritual practice after 2011. Prayers are appreciated. Last year was the first time that I integrated running at the same time. I used to not be able to exercise when doing the fast. But March will be the time that I begin my half marathon training all over again like last year. Lord willing.

Ugh, I've been wanting to fast once a week, but everytime I start it, I forget. It's hard to break the habit.

I got no plans tomorrow other than working, no reason to leave the house. Tomorrow's a good day to fast. Starts tonight. Hold me accountable, please :sunglasses:

I don’t concern myself with knowledge I can’t use. I prefer to be adept at a few things than mediocre in many.

You seem to know something about most everything that matters. All the respect, for sure. Do you have a photographic memory, or something similar? Whatever it is, it's impressive.

Thank you. Retention helps. Drive and output are contributors. As is strategy. Everything I do (for myself) has a greater purpose. The activity is part of the plan.

It isn’t just head knowledge. I’ve figured out how to monetize it. Everything I learn is a pleasure and income stream or future earnings.

My mind is my greatest asset. That’s why I’m single. :congrat:

Some feel it is. I don’t do yoga. I studied Hinduism and Buddhism. I know what the gestures mean.

For some reason, sitting w/ good posture takes more effort then standing w/ good posture

A brace could help. It forces you to remain upright and strengthen your back in the process. It might be a good idea in the interim. You wear it under your clothes.

If you as in me

Figurative you.

Past couple years, meeting single women in a compatible dating age range has been the struggle. I meet every other kind of person but that kind's elusive.

Adjust the range and see what happens. Younger women are more discriminating. I have one at home. She’s like a younger me. Kind of frightening.

Definitely. & I am expecting to initiate it. I'm just saying it can happen.

Of course. I’m no expert on Christian dating. I tried that approach and its too frustrating. I know what works and that’s what I do now.

Snow day today! Cannot get out of the driveway. My boss is so nice to me. lol
Looks like we got about a foot last night. I might take an hour off early to snowblow. I'm fortunate to have remote working as an opportunity. And that I haven't been called out for snowplowing. Its almost surreal not being used this winter.

Do you usually get called out a lot to plow? It seems like it hasn't snowed very much this winter where I am either.
