Do you find people don't want to take time off when they're sick a lot?
Yeah, because my associates would rather plan vacations to use their time off, so they will just work sick.
I had Thanksgiving off, because the store was closed, Friday was my normal day off, but i had to work it anyway, and because the doc was off, I took Saturday, Sunday to kinda give myself a little break.

My whole family got sick two days before Thanksgiving, I got sick the morning after, but since I had a small weekend, I took LOADS of Vitamin C, drank water like a fish, ate super spicy foods that help fight colds, and a some cough syrup for good measure, and I was 95% over it by Sunday night. The rest of my fam is still sick. All Covid tests have been negative though.

And my sick associate had to go to the ER with a fever of 103 today, and she's a smoker, so her lungs are not having a great time with this. She's been sick since Tuesday night ish, so hopefully she'll start feeling better soon.

Between new opportunities, kitchen updates, a health scare with my dad (he's feeling better), traveling to visit family, and focusing on hobbies, I haven't been posting as frequently.

In terms of faith, I've been thinking a lot about who Jesus is. Not just his time walking among us, but his hand in creation and as the light. The extent of his creativity and generosity is astonishing and marvelous. What good we encounter in life, the credit goes to our creator, and I think it's telling that he experienced time on this planet as a carpenter's son. We tend to underplay metaphor and other layers of meaning as somehow unimportant. We are his creation, and his handiwork is in each of us. Let's keep that in mind when we wake up tomorrow and go about our daily lives.

That's a good observation. I think it really helps to think about these things more deeply.

A friend of mine is in hospital and not expected to make it to the end of the day. We knew this day was coming as she's been battling a brand tumour for a number of years and it's now become inoperable, but it's sooner than expected as according to her husband the hospital messed up her pain medication, and this situation was avoidable, which makes it even more tragic.

So I think I'm making progress with friendships. One of my goals for 2022 was to deepen the friendships that I have and text less. Today was the first time that one of my friends and running buddies said she wanted to call and talk. She said she had no one to talk to and it was about a guy that she's interested in and was going to dinner with him tonight. He's the father a classmate of her son.

Looking back at 2022, as I reflect, I was having a hard time seeing good things. But I think I'm starting to see some of the hardships were necessary to pave out a better road. Something had to change, change is never easy, but hopefully it builds for a better future into 2023.

Having the ever present self-debate on if I want to keep bangs or grow them out. On the one hand, I hate my forehead and how flat my hair looks without bangs to distract. On the other hand, bangs means constant self trims to keep them in check that often go wrong and result in way too short babydoll bangs (my current woe). Hair contentment is not a thing I know.

It's a dilemma by many. Have you considered a stylist? If you get a trim every 6 to 8 weeks, they sometimes will do a courtesy bang trim between appointments. Aveda is my favorite, because they give a head and hand massage. It's my once a month pampering treatment.

I'm the other hand it's nice to switch things up every once in awhile. In 2020 when we couldn't cut her hair, I had an awesome discovery of longer bangs and a bit of natural curl. I've switched it up just a little bit since. Good luck!:)

I recently joined a Discord called "Ancients of VRChat". It's for fellow adults, and will hopefully allow me to enjoy the social aspects of the game. Their calendar includes things like mini golf, dance lessons, and other virtual events. As somebody who dances in VR for fitness and fun, the dance lessons sound interesting. So far, I've mostly played it to experience the artwork and creativity. Generally keeping to myself while roaming from world to world, and sometimes inviting IRL friends to join me. Now that I've found this group, and have an avatar of a character that I created which represents me better than what I found for free, I'd like to spend more time hanging out with other players. If I'm going to find that, the older demographic is what I'm looking for. I'm in my 40s, and I see group player profiles from 20s through 60s so I shouldn't feel as much like a fish out of water.

A lot of atheists won’t convert unless they get a text from God or see him in the flesh. They think that since there’s millions of false gods, the God of the Bible must be so too.
