I've said before that the plethora of denominations is an abomination. If the Roman Catholic organisation was not so corrupt, unbiblical, deceptive and satanic, the reformation would never have happened. The errors of denominationalism do not make Roman Catholicism right.Not only does the Bible say nothing about the Reformation, it forbids the very idea. Jesus Himself founded one Church, said it was a to remain one, and promised that one Church "The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth", and "Whatsoever you bind upon Earth is bound in Heaven", and "He who hears you hears Me". His stated will concerning His Church was and still is "that they all may be ONE", even as I and My heavenly Father are ONE". He knew that truth can exist only in unity, because truth cannot conflict with truth, and conflicting beliefs therefore necessarily mean false beliefs. Then one proud, misguided man thought he could do a better job of interpreting the Bible than the Church which had compiled the Bible from its own writings under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. So He defected from God's Church and founded his own church, based on "the Bible alone", which of course meant his own personal interpretations of the Bible. Before Luther died, there were half a dozen other Protestant denominations that had separated from his church because they didn't agree with his biblical interpretations. The doctrinal chaos of Protestantism had begun. Today there are over 6,000 Protestant denominations, each claiming to follow "the Bible alone", yet the teaching of each one contradicting the teaching of the others. Total doctrinal chaos. And that doesn't even include the 20,000+ so-called "non-denominational" Protestant churches. Meanwhile, the one Church Jesus founded (which includes well over half of all Christians) remains one in belief, one in teaching, one in worship, one in biblical understanding throughout the world after 2,000 years, with no conflicting denominations. You just can't beat God's Plan.
The church is the body of Christ made up of believers. God dwells not in temples made with hands.How can there be more than one true church?

There was no authority given anywhere in any way to break from the Church that Christ established. The basic concept was that the Catholic Church had strayed from the truth and that, by using Scripture as their sole authoritative source of revelation, the Reformers could bypass the Catholic Church’s authority and know the gospel truth-God’s nature and will for man-independently. This effectively made each reader the authority, and ultimately spawned myriads of different understandings based on varying interpretations with many different spin-off denominations or churches resulting. More confusion and argumentation and division than ever is the order of the day now in the Christian world.What was reformed?

People are the church. Church = assembly. How do buildings assemble?Only Christ has authority to found the church, HIS church which He alone builds! Mt 16:18 on Peter and the apostles eph 2:20 and their successors!
