I figured out what happened here! Actually what happened was that Catholicon, took my statement, did not change the font or the color or anything and rearranged words and changed words to suit herself and it was THAT quote, that you were responding to, so it was not your fault and it wasn't you who changed anything I said.

She should next time use the quote function and if she wants to reword what someone else says using their quote then it would be good manners in the least to change the font and color to match the rest of his post.

If people want to be godless and involve themselves in unsafe sexual practices of any kind, there is no reason why the government should have to play a part in enabling a pandemic.
I am sure the government of Africa can agree with that. It doesn't have to be
a Theocracy in order to be wise.

not really, the poll isn't specific enough. If society decides that gay marriage should happen, then so be it. I may not particularly agree with it, but I'm not going to fight it. Since the country has freedom of religion, I don't think that I should push my beliefs on the subject to people who aren't even of the same faith.

Why is it when "others" fight for something, they are "exercising their rights"
but if we fight for something, we are "pushing our beliefs on others"?
Don't we have the right to exercise our votes and cast them according to what
we believe, and what we know is pleasing to the God that we serve?

Wait 'til the homosexual agenda is showing up at your school recruiting your children,
"pushing their beliefs", as they are in other states and you get banned from school
property because you speak up regarding your parental rights and you go to the school
to pick up your child and the school calls the police and has you arrested for trespassing.

Think this is an exaggeration or that it won't happen? Well it already has happened
to a man recently in Massachussetts if I am not mistaken and I will find that
info for you. His kid was 5 years old!

I never said we shouldn't stand for what we believe in, I just said that if the government legalizes it I won't fight, because this country is free. If this were a christian nation then obviously I'd have a different approach, but not everyone here worships our God. And they have that right, because if we try to control that then we are just hurting our own rights to beliefs also.

modern marriage in general is not a God-blessed institution as it was intended. It's become more of a legal process than anything, and I just feel like trying to fight for it is effort thats best spent elsewhere, like in our churches, the places where God's word is (hopefully) still held tightly

I agree, given that the man-made rules do not directly conflict with God-given ones. Gay marriage does not conflict, however, as it only is a means of legal contract. What gay marriage implies, can be debated, but its not about the implications of what gay marriage is about, its whether they can be legally married. I'll state again that I only read condemnation to same-sex sex. I can see the fundamentalist side of this, that homosexuals wish to define themselves according to their sexual preference, and demand to have equality in what was originally a God-given institution. This however is a civil matter, and not a religious one, because of our freedoms.

Not sure what the Sabbath has to do with obeying the government, but fortunately we the people, as part of this republic of the US have a right to exercise our votes as opposed to a communist nation, and we should exercise them, stand and be counted for as long as we are able.

If you number the commandments the way Lutherans do, the fourth is "Honor your father and mother that it may go well with you, and that you might enjoy long life on the earth."
