I'm curious. What's the latest update as to whether churches in Australia will have to insist on vaccine passports needed to be seen at the door? I recall you talking about the possibility of this prior.

I think we are still a bit all over the shop at the moment.

The news from Christ Church St Lawrence contains this "As previously advised, weekday services will be open to congregations from Monday 18 October. Evidence of full vaccination will be required at this stage."​

Archbishop Kanishka Raffel has said that we can't turn people back, so he wishes to delay till we do not have to turn people away.

The new Premier of NSW is likely to open up more quickly, and as a practicing Catholic, he might be expected to take the pressure off compliance earlier than others. We are likely to see more announcements this week, as we have hit 80% double vaccination in NSW today. The 1st of November has been listed as the date for the re-opening of regional travel, and may well include other liberties.

Australia may have come late in the vaccination stakes, but we have run a good race.

It varies by state. In NSW, where I am, this has been a requirement since last Monday, but will cease to be a requirement for churches tomorrow. Other venues will continue to have the requirement until 1st December.

So we had a week where it was legal only for double-vaccinated people to attend church. Different churches have responded differently. Some (the Catholic diocese of Wagga Wagga is an example) have refused to open, saying if church isn't for everyone, they won't hold services for anyone. Others have sought to find a more nuanced way through. My parish opened, with heavy emphasis on home visits for anyone unable or unwilling to come, and I will admit that our policing was... intentionally lax.

One comforting thought though is that there is only One who knows the secrets of the heart.

I thought only babies cry, ao why does this song always bring tears to my eyes.

It is like that, often I get thoughts of people and wonder how they are doing,

Sadly I need to go back on a diet.. haven't gained a ton of weight.. but I gotta watch myself.

One bad thing about being a short and neotenous looking guy.. calories pack a larger punch than they would for a normal man. While women on average need to consume less calories.. I'm probably somewhere in the middle between the average man and the average woman.

Just the way things are though..

Yeah.. the sweets really get people. Cut them out and you're diet is massively improved.

I just bought some vitamins.. I know last time they seemed to speed up my metabolism.

You are absolutely right, I need sweet police to look after me. When im doing grocery shopping he needs to shoot rubberbullets when I reach for chocolates and candy.

I've been very busy, but am popping in and out around various things in real life.

I have to write my annual report. I am happy to procrastinate about writing my annual report.
