  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've gotten into a series of romance novels. It's been a long time since I was this interested in romance. They are by a Christian author, and they are short, easy reads. There are 12 books in the series called Smokey Mountain Matches by Karen Kirst.

I am starting a new sci-fi series. The author is Cixin Liu and the series is called Remembrance of Earth's Past. The first books is The Three-Body Problem, the second is The Dark Forest and the third is Death's End. There is a forth book by a fan called The Redemption of Time that I may consider after readying the three by Cixin Liu.

The Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain (for school) and Attacking Chess by Josh Waitzkin (not for school).

I like both authors. Twain is hilarious, and Waitzkin is friendly. Attacking Chess was written when he was 18 years old. I recommend The Art of Learning for non-chess-players, heh. Very well written.

I just finished Jerry Bridges' The Practice of Godliness. After a few introductory chapters, the remaining book gives a chapter each to the Fruits of the Spirit. Each chapter is structured how God exhibits them, how we can act on them, & how we can grow in them. I recommend this book to believers who want to develop godliness, & how to practice Christian character in their own lives, with God, & w/ others.

Matthew 27 , actually my bible is the only book I read because I despise reading. I don’t get enjoyment from books , that being said I do enjoy reading my scriptures and keeping notes
You just need to find 'your' author, genre, or writing style. :)

Actually it seems like the Bible is it for you :)

The Prose Edda by Snorri Sturluson (13th Century) translated by Anthony Faulkes. A compilation of Norse myths and legends and a textbook for young poets who wished to praise kings. I am looking forward to the publication of Jackson Crawford's translation.
