I'll tell you one thing... I would not want and would even speak out if I saw my sister or brother in-law involving my 8 year old niece in any kind of political discussion in this current climate we're living in. There are just too many crazies out there with way too much access to people right now for any sane person to take a public stance on their politics. It is dangerous. It is no place for children who don't even understand the context of the discussions that are taking place and it needlessly exposes them to a very ugly facet of American society.

I really feel for this little girl who was thrust into this disgusting battle that is happening. I don't feel for the parents who put her into this situation, though.

Agree. I saw an adult woman lampoon AOC and I thought she was spot on (for parody's sake). But I was uncomfortable seeing the child portray her. Out of place. IMO the internet is a strictly adult medium, and I believe no children should be on it unsupervised.

I don't know if you expected an argument from me but I agree that kids shouldn't be taking part in any kind of gay pride parade. That's a subject I would argue is beyond their comprehension at such a young age.

Not at all. I don't condone any of this behavior just because I accept that it exists. The dirtbags I know that exist on the internet are there regardless of what ideal we may have for an internet community. It is completely up to parents to protect their kids from the kind of environment that we all know exists online. You know there's bad people online. I know there's bad people online. We all know politics are a highly divisive subject. If either of us choose to expose our kids to that environment it is completely on us for doing so.

That's because Antifa has yet to brutally murder someone they disagree with. THe majority of domestic terrorism here in the US is done by and on behalf of far right causes. Before 9/11 the single biggest terrorist activity on US soil was done by Timothy McVeigh, a racist rightwing extremist.

Let me say, I find this girl adorable and think it should be okay for her to poke some fun at AOC. I think she's a great little actress and she reminds me of my niece's own silliness in her personality. I just don't think it appropriate for someone her age because unfortunately, this exposes her to some really awful people that are online.

There are something like 330 million people in the United States. Let's just go simplistic and cut it directly in half. So, 165 million people are on each side. How many people do you think are actually harassing anybody? I have a full time job, am a full time student, and have a number of other obligations in my life. I don't have time to go protest, send death threats, and all that kind of nonsense. I'm guessing most of the people on my side, "THE LEFT (DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN)" are the same way. So, you've got pockets of people who are jerks and who act like morons. Death threats? Do you know people sometimes just do it for kicks and aren't even taking a side? Trolls? It shouldn't have happened to this girl or anybody else, but geeze. I remember a few years ago with the nonsense GamerGate movement and people getting death threats from them and they were clearly not the left.
