Was the Sabbath given to man at creation as a special day to worship God?

Did Adam and Eve keep each seventh-day Sabbath?

Weird!

My Bible says that they have a father/son relationship.

Behold, the day of the LORD is coming,
And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Then the LORD will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
Which faces Jerusalem on the east.
And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two,
From east to west,
Making a very large valley;
Half of the mountain shall move toward the north
And half of it toward the south.
Then you shall flee through My mountain valley,
For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal.
Yes, you shall flee
As you fled from the earthquake
In the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
Thus the LORD my God will come,
And all the saints with You.

Zechariah 14:1-5

Is Jesus Coming with the saints at the end of the age, or is God the Father ?

But to the Son He says:
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”
And:
You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands.

Hebrews 1:8-10

The Father in invisible to us. The Father is unknown to humanity, and has never been seen by humanity. The Father has never spoken to humanity.

The world was created through Jesus and for Jesus.

When God walked in the garden of Eden, that was not the Father walking around and talking to Adam and Eve.

When God visited Moses that was not the Father who walked past Moses.

The only known point in the scripture where any mention of the existence of a 'Father', was spoken by Jesus His Son.

Colossians 1:16
For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.

YHWH is the Word, the Word is Jesus.

What is the reason for the Sabbath day? Let us look to the Bible and consider the three different versions of the ten commandments in their order of composition.

Exodus 34:21 Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.

Written about 950BC, this version lists no reason. Note that it is the sixth commandment. This version is also the only one to self identify as “the ten commandments”.

Exodus 20:8 Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labour and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy

Written about 850 BC and revised during the Exile, this version gives the reason as “because the Lord rested on the seventh day”. Here it is the third commandment.

Deuteronomy 5: 12 Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the LORD your God has commanded you. 13 Six days you shall labour and do all your work, 14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor the alien within your gates, so that your manservant and maidservant may rest, as you do. 15 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.

Written about 625 BC, this version gives the reason as “because you were to remember that you were slaves in Egypt”. This too is the third commandment.

So why these differences? And why three versions? I do have one possibility here. The Genesis 1 creation story which includes the Lord resting on the seventh day was written during the Exile probably by the same people that revised Exodus 20. This information was simply not available to the writer of Deuteronomy.

Had you considered the possibility that your speculations might be in error?

Actually I have but I have never found convincing evidence to drop them. Have you considered the possibility that you might be wrong?

I didn't make the positive assertion.

Have you ever heard of 'Burden of Proof'?

Do you agree that Jesus Christ is Lord; YHWH ?

What does that have to do with what I said and asked you? I said: Yeshua said that Avraham was glad to see His day

Should I? If so, why...if not, why?

Jesus Christ is Lord; YHWH the Lord God.

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-13

Jesus is the name of the Lord, YHWH.

Jesus is the name ABOVE ALL NAMES.
