I don't see how the U.S. president can declare anything official about another country. I'm not seeing how U.S can impose laws or give another land to another country. It bothers me, that we stick our nose in thing, we shouldn't. This isn't just a Trump thing. It's just things that seem to always happen.

We aren't declaring it, Israel is, and always has, but now were are acknowledging it. This might not seem like a big deal, but the entire reason Israel exists is because America, the UK, and Russia acknowledged their existence when they declared it. Without that, they would have been simply been invaders or immigrants, and support would have been much weaker, and the Israeli state would have been unlikely to have ever gotten off the ground.

I like how Turkey is in NATO and can spout this off, all after we simply decide to acknowledge Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

They are supposed to be an ally.

The problem with having turkey as an ally is that you have turkey as an ally.

Also, turkey isn't just a lone voice warning about this. There are other voices as well, some of which come out of your own government.

What I haven't yet heard anything about is what Israel thinks about all of this.

THe US doesn't come under a prophetic time line. You are look at Jerusalem in man terms when God says His ways are not your ways. He has a specific plan for Jerusalem and when the time comes ( His time), it might look awkward to man but it's going to happen.

They are. They're our ally. Israel is also our ally. It doesn't necessarily follow that Turkey and Israel are allies of each other, however.

Besides, Turkey's statement wasn't any kind of threat, more of a "whoa, hold on there; bad idea...." kind of statement. I would hope my allies would warn me when they think I'm doing something they think is stupid...

If God has such a vested interest in Jerusalem, what's He need Donald for?

Using Donald as a tool to execute His will? "Mysterious ways" doesn't begin to cover it...

God has always used human leaders and nations to stir things up, fulfill prophecies.

And that's fine, but some like to "watch therefore" as Jesus instructed regarding prophesied end time events, events that the church is certainly a part of.

Then there was no point for Jesus to state in His great prayer when instructing how to pray " thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven" . There are prophecies in Daniel to be fulfilled and Jesus' final return is after those are fulfilled. Others have been filled over time, on time. So will these be, regardless of what you believe . God has a plan and He will enact it, it will happen according to His will not a churches tradition. Jesus is part of the prophecy, not in place of it. law was fulfilled through His blood ,as is our salvation. But the prophetic timeline still clicks and when the Father says go, He is coming.

The Palestinians had a country "post WW2?" No, the Palestinians did not have a country after WW2 to be divided by foreign interests. Rather, the land of Palestine, after WWI, was governed by France and Britain until 1948. The Palestinians did not have a "country" in 1948.

(Country here, understood by mean, to mean a nation exercising legal authority as a governmental entity over a land and people in the land.)

It's something that seems weird on the surface. Had they agreed to the partitioning, they would have had their own country with their own government.

Now, we know that they rejected it because the surrounding nations thought they could push the Jews into the sea and it didn't work.

The kingdom of God is not a physical kingdom. It reigns in our hearts by grace. As Lutheran I can never accept the notion that Israel as a state is part of a plan for the salvation of the world in any way. God's plan for salvation ended 2,000 years ago, and is finished.

I recognize the state of Israel as having a right to exist as a Jewish homeland, but it must be bound by the same laws and norms as any nation, and live in peace with its neighbors.
