A common refrain from January 6 rioters, and some of their Republican defenders, is that they were welcomed into the Capitol by police officers.​

Trump said in a book interview in March that “the Capitol Police were ushering people in” and “the Capitol Police were very friendly. You know, they were hugging and kissing.” The claim has been echoed by Trump supporters. For example, Trump-endorsed Republican Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake declared at a Trump rally in October that the people being held in jail over the Capitol attack “were invited in by Capitol Police.”​

Facts First: The claim that the rioters were invited into the Capitol is false. Again, about 140 police officers were assaulted while trying to stop the mob from breaching the Capitol. There were hours-long battles between police and rioters near some entrances. CNN obtained footage from police body-worn cameras showing how dozens of officers engaged in hand-to-hand combat with rioters in a desperate effort to keep them out of the building.​

This may have been one of the officers that was disciplined.

There is still no excuse. Two wrongs do not make a right. In this case, it was many wrongs. They broke into the Capitol and stopped the Congress from doing its Constitutional duty for hours.

Amazing how the Jan 6th committee kept the info below silent, it took Tucker Carlson to go main stream with the story, as the world watched

Are we all just to pretend that Tucker isn't who he is, that he isn't far right propaganda?
Are we to pretend that he is an unbiased investigative journalist with high integrity?

No one in their right mind would give Tucker thousands of hours of footage and expect him to come back with an honest summary.
If this stuff were put before a court case, no lawyer in their right mind would use Tucker for his expertise and reputation to offer a respected professional and qualified opinion.

He did nothing to tell these people to stop and go home, even though they had their communications devices on them and were waiting with baited breath for orders to come through from him.

I disagree with the claims and narrative presented

As the 9sec clip clearly shows, the capitol police officer was waving attendees into the capitol area, and it's my opinion he was shouting go, go, go

Once the officer in authority waved attendees into the capitol, it's my opinion the crime of trespass was removed, and it appears the federal judge below saw things the same way

This video clip is in perfect agreement with the Capitol Police Chiefs statement, regarding disciplinary actions taken against officers

A federal judge on Wednesday found Matthew Martin not guilty of four federal misdemeanors related to trespassing – marking the first time a US Capitol riot defendant was acquitted of all charges.

Martin, who worked for a government contractor before his arrest following the riot, successfully argued that a US Capitol Police officer waved him into the building. At least one video played during the trial appeared to show an officer moving his arm in a waving motion.

Trump absolutely showed that day that he was unfit to be president.
The behavior of the insurrectionists and Trump's lack of action, and probable encouragement of that behavior was anti-Democratic and against the Constitution. .

Yes the photo you present appears to show criminal behavior that I don't support whatsoever, and hopefully those engaged in the activity have been charged and prosecuted

Capitol Police Suspends 6 Officers, Investigates Dozens More After Capitol Riots​

"The investigation into the January 6 attack remains under investigation. Our Office of Professional Responsibility is investigating the actions of 35 police officers from that day. We currently have suspended six of those officers with pay," the department said in a statement.

Capitol Police Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman further directed that any member whose behavior is not in keeping with the department's Rules of Conduct "will face appropriate discipline."

The department "has been actively reviewing video and other open source materials of some USCP officers and officials that appear to be in violation of Department regulations and policies," she said on Jan. 11.

Videos from the day of the attack appear to show some officers escorting rioters inside the building. In one video, USCP officers can be seen opening barricades allowing the mob to enter the Capitol complex without resistance.

Then she is wrong. I have seen everyone of the alleged "let them in" videos and in each case they were not just "let in".

Yeah but, if you watch that 9 second clip, and ignore all those other hours of clips of that day, which can easily be found on the internet.
If you ignore all that other stuff, if you ignore all those people being found guilty in the courts, if you ignore that one person was shot and killed trying to climb through a broken window. Then maybe you can believe that this was just a happy tourist visit, with the extra added excitement of police there to be tourist guides for the day.
