I really like the 2017 Lincoln Continental.

That is a good looking car. The nice thing about Lincolns is that they depreciate pretty quickly, so you can wait a couple of years and buy one for less than half what they sell for new.

There are a lot of good deals in luxury sedans now. It's amazing how much pickups sell for these days. My pickup sold for $37k new in 2014 and I could have bought a pretty sweet car for the same price with a lot of luxury items. My truck is pretty basic for how much it cost. I paid $29k for it as a end of the year closeout in 2015 and I had it appraised recently and it's still worth $27k even with 43k miles on it.

Almost all the luxury brands seem to go down faster. I was thinking about maybe buying a used Altima or 350Z in a few years, but it would be cheaper around here to buy an Infiniti.

Yeah, the luxury cars seem to lose their value fast. I bought a 2005 Cadillac Deville last year for $3,300. The original retail price is over $40,000. I could never imagine paying that much for a car. So far its the best car I've ever owned, however, even though I would have never pictured myself buying a Cadillac.

I still think my first truck was probably my favorite vehicle to drive, despite the fact that it was old, beat up, and had no A/C. The stick shift and 4 wheel drive were just too much fun. Not to mention that you could sleep 2 people in it with the wide cab and front & rear bench seats.

My last car show of the year is this Sunday near Phoenix at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. It is called "Pontiac Heaven" and is for vintage Pontiacs including GTOs Trans Ams, Catalinas, Firebird, Lemans, etc. There will be food, music, 25 classes over looking Firebird lake. Last year, I started an autocross and we will continue with that for our second time. It's fun. There will not be any drag racing at this event.

My events will continue in February with 3 days of drag racing and swap meet, 2 days of car shows, tours of classic salvage yards and at one of my own storage yards. Lots of fun Feb 16-18 at Wild Horse Pass near Phoenix, Arizona. Proceeds to this feb event weekend will go towards my car museum project. the acreage in eastern Az has been paid for, the permits approved. The 9000 square foot building was bought and delivered earlier this year. The next step is getting the building erected, then cars can be moved in and restorations completed.

So I just recently heard they're coming out with a I think.. 2018? version of the Chevelle... now the 1970 Chevelle (Black with white racing stripes and red interior please!) is my favorite car of all time so I was super excited to hear about this. But honestly it doesn't look like Chevelle's... It basically looks like a mix of a mustang and a camaro.

It's still cute though. But I prefer the original Chevelle.

I have few Lionel 027 gauge trains. Mostly from relatives, who passed them down to me when I was a kid. They're in boxes for now, but I might assemble them all into an elaborate setup someday.

As far as cars are concerned, I can see myself getting a Model A Ford. Maybe the coupe or the pickup version. Sure, I like muscle cars and exotics as much as the next guy, but something like this would scratch the itch without breaking the bank or taking too much time away from my other hobbies and interests.

Then again, if ever got bored, I might personalize it a little:

Thanks for posting this. The 1970 SS Chevelle and 1964 2 door impala are two of my favorite classic cars. I don't know about this new one. I know it's going to be out of my budget right now anyways. But it's going to be good to see.

What's your favorite type of transportation?

I like trains, my ideal being the Venice-Simplon (no, I've not been on it, but one day perhaps....). A slow train is the best way to travel.
