Gotta just say this....(this might turn out as popular as the gurney not liking black hoe-down music in the other thread! LOL)....

Andre didn't hardly have any wrestling moves. He was a giant hulking lug. Great guy with a heart of gold, but not a wrestler in many ways. Chops.....tied up in ropes....head-butts, grabbed you and slammed you. Not much else.

I'm more of a Brett Hart fan, a guy with tons of moves and skilz! My guilty pleasure was Ultimate Warrior and Flair! LOL

yup Bret was awesome when I was young, he could have great matches with anyone, one story I heard was about a pay per view over in England, his brother in law British Bulldog was suppose to wrestle in the main event, infront of like 80,000 people but Bulldog was pilled out of his mind, dealing with a nasty staph infection. Anyways Bret carries the entire match all the while Bulldog not all meantally or physically there due to painkillers, and the hitman still made Bulldog look like a million bucks. That's a total pro. As far as Ultimate Warrior goes that dude was jacked like nothing I seen, I remember kids dressing up like him for halloween one year, it was a crazy time to be a fan.

Oh dude! Some college friends of mine who've been married since we were in college seem to be getting divorced. They were some of the last people you would have expected this to happen to. I'm just shocked.

Lou Thesz was amazing. When he said, "we can do this the easy way or the hard way" to his opponent, Buddy Rogers knew how the match would end regardless of what the promoters wanted.

Ric Flair's promo's were simply too good. The skit with ricky steamboat. Flair told Steamboat that a real champion parties all night with many women and that he should "go help the misses with the dishes", that was amazing. Steamboat stripped him down to his undies and they wrestled in the seating area like that for like 3 minutes.

But the greatest big man was Mike Awesome as champion in ECW, the high risk moves for his size were hard to believe. But he then went to the major promotion turning him into that "fat chick thriller" bufoon gimmick. May God have mercy on his soul.

I spoke to the brother-in-law of the couple getting divorced he said she wanted to persue her own interests and was tired of being in her husband's shadow. I said, "Call me a fundamentalist, but I don't recall reading that in scripture as a valid reason for a divorce." My friend agreed with me.

So I read in the local paper today that Pope Francis is starting a papal commission to explore women's ordination, starting with the diaconate.
Once again I thank the Lord for getting me out of Catholicism and into Orthodoxy. Thank you Lord!!!!

Pope Francis is moving toward female priests? I wonder if that is accurate. Not our business, I suppose, but I'm sure it would be distressing news to many, many Catholics.

While it not our business i'm glad I winded up finding Orthodoxy, The RCC seems to be going down the path of so many Maineline Protestants mistakenly went, the fruits of VaticanII really smells bad,.

What going on in Methodism, anybody see all those celergy quote coming out gay, is this future of Western Christianity? lord have mercy!

It is accurate. He is starting a commission to explore female ordination. Phase one is centered around deaconesses. As Matt alluded to, they haven't the first clue about the real, true role of that position in the ancient Church. Back in the early 1990's, the loud feminist loons in the CC were barking about WO, and Pope John Paul II refused 100% to even discuss the issue. He would not convene a commission, refused to speculate, flat out rejected the idea as absurdity. Now we're seeing incremental baby steps toward laying hands on hair spray. Thank God I found Orthodoxy.

I'm going to love to hear what conservative, traditional, pro-infallibility folks in the CC will have to say when lady priests are "ordained." That ought to be tasty to observe.

Btw, Gurney, I should have said that more carefully. I didn't mean to question you, but more the direction (or rather destination) hinted at. I wasn't sure if it was more than a hint, or not.

I don't know how to feel.

I'm saddened for individual Catholics becoming scandalized, possibly. I'm saddened for weakening of overall truth among Christendom. I'm thankful this would be unexpected within Orthodoxy. I'm wondering if the backlash could steer more Catholics into Orthodoxy (which of course I would consider a good thing) or at least result in some overall return to something more historical within Catholicism (which long term I'm not sure if it would be good or bad overall). God knows.

Oh, and I got a chuckle over "laying hands on hairspray". But I've never used hairspray, and my husband uses it every day (just hair type). I guess it's still associated with women though. I tend to think of it as mostly for older ladies. Used a ton of it on my daughter after spending two hours fixing her hair for prom. I can't stand the stuff though.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, western christianity is not christianity it is a heresy. And this heresy is one our clergy here in the diaspora are prone to falling into, as are the laity. The secular government and hollywood dictates to the culture around them how to act and believe and these so-called churches follow suit soon after.

By the way what is it with the female clergy of these sects that always want to hold hands at every protest they attend? Has anyone else noticed this? What is it with holding hands with these people.
