I watched four or five episodes because I like Spader a lot. It did t grab me. Game of Thrones has more sex in it than the porn movies my buddies would put on when their parents were gone in junior high! Lol

I read an interview with GRRM where he said he had no idea how dirty his books were until the show came out.

This is true, it like watching a porno, and also some of the violence can be over the top at times, that one son of the Queen was brutal, and quite possibly evil. However I wonder how much of that show is accurate in real life?

The books are loosely based on the War of the Roses in England. The Red Wedding was definitely based on actual events.

I read the book on deployment and saw snippets of the show. since they killed off my two favorite characters in the first book, I lost interest.

That's true, I really don't want it to be a political question, but it one on my mind, how much of this egotism, and selfishness since the 90's is triumphilism(?) following the end of Cold war? kind of like "now that it over, now we can go into our own bubbles"

maybe, that is an interesting point. plus the crazy prosperity of the 90's

Just found out something really cool.

A few months ago, a coworker came by my desk and said his wife might call me to meet for lunch to talk about the Orthodox Church. She was Methodist but I guess she was searching, and someone told her that the Orthodox Church was the original church. But time passed and I never heard from her so I didn't think any more about it.

Yesterday, her husband sees me and tells me she's going to be Chrismated before Pascha! How great is that!!!

I'm not a prude, but for goodness sakes, I can at least see the sex being shown if it is extremely pertinent (and even then I'd rather they not show it), but G.O.T. has some guy riding a woman (or three) in every scene even if it's in the background. They could be walking through horse stables---sex.....cooking something for the king----orgy.....the blacksmith forging armor---lesbians. That show goes out of its way to put sex in every nook and cranny to the point it's so gratuitous that my wife and I were shaking our heads. It's bizarre. And when midgets get involved....well....honestly words fail me.

Ok I got into a debate with my friend, she think Johnny Depp like the greatest actor ever, and I said Robert Deniro with his work from the 70's - 90's, she poined out that Deniro while a great doesn't have have a whole body of diverse work, he always a mobster, tough guy, or lunatic. She might be right about Deniro.

Robert Deneiro is a good actor, Depp is an annoying pain in the [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]. I can't stand Depp. The ONLY movie I like him in is "Ed Wood." He was a treasure in that, worthless in mostly everything else. Oh, Nightmare on Elm Street he was fair LOL!

Well, my laptop died, 2 months out of warranty, but that's OK because I had purchased an extended 12 month warranty on top of the standard.
Of course the warranty provider has an online submission process that is broken and I've been on hold for more than 10 minutes trying to call them (I don't have the luxury of being able to wait by the phone during work hours.) I've tracked down their main website and fired off an email so I'll see how long it is before I have to go to consumer affairs to lodge a complaint. Don't know how long it will be before it gets fixed or replaced.
