  1. TRUTH

TRUTH Prove All things! 1 Thes 5:21

1 John 2:4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, IS A LIAR, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
7 Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard FROM THE BEGINNING.

So if your minister is saying that the law is done away, God says he is a liar!

    One question:
What do these verses mean to you?

    Colossians 2:

    Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

    Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Col 2:15 [And] having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:

Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ.

This is the answer to your own question.

We are told, that we are not to let know man judge us by keeping
    the "TRUE" Word of God.

    For example:
"Just what law are you living under?"
"You are going to be judged by the law!!"
"Thats all been done away with"
    ect, ect....

There's only one sacrifice that our Father God did away with.
Thats the sacrifice of the lamb during passover, for He (Messiah)
    is our Lamb...

People can mock, and judge me all they wish, but I follow my
creators commandments to please Him, and no one else.

Pagen ways that we grew up in are hard to break, I'll be the first
to admit, but if we want to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, and not
be told "I never knew you", then we must pick up our cross, and
    follow Him.....

I love everyone here, and I wish all would come to repentence. I
share these things in love, I follow my Fathers Will, not my own.

    Leviticus 25
3 For six years sow your fields, and for six years prune your vineyards and gather their crops.
4 But in the seventh year the land is to have a sabbath of rest, a sabbath to the LORD. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards.
5 Do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the grapes of your untended vines. The land is to have a year of rest.

Am I to assume that those of you requiring that I keep the sabbath also keep this law? I find it hard to believe that anyone takes a year off of work every seven years.

As has been pointed out, if you are going to follow the Law you have to follow it all.
  5. tericl2

    tericl2 A Work in Progress

    Numbers 28
8 Prepare the second lamb at twilight, along with the same kind of grain offering and drink offering that you prepare in the morning. This is an offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing to the LORD.
9 "`On the Sabbath day, make an offering of two lambs a year old without defect, together with its drink offering and a grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah [1] of fine flour mixed with oil.
10 This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering.

More of the Law. Do you follow it? Or are you redeemed by grace in Jesus Christ who was the fulfillment of the law?

BTW, if he has fulfilled the Law why do I need to fulfill it? He has done it for me, and I live in Him....a life free from legalism.

GAL 3:10 All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law." 11 Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith." (NIV)

James 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. (NIV)

Unless you have been perfectly sinless from birth you are under a curse. You have broken every commandment! The only way to get out from under this curse is to put aside the self-rightousness that makes you think that even thought you are guilty of breaking every commandment of God you can now somehow gain favor in God's eyes by picking out a few commandments you like and trying to keep them.

The only way to find favor with God is to accept the sacrifice of his son. Jesus paid the penalty for your sins when he died on the cross for you. All you have to do is accept this gift.

You didn't read my post to close did you?

Yeshua/Jesus became our Lamb, do I need to
    make that any clearer?

    As far as
    Leviticus 25
God is telling people not to till the ground after 6 years. Let the
ground rest He says for one year.

If you ask any farmer who knows anything about farming, they
will tell you that they can only till the ground for so many years
before the soil becomes useless. God already knew this, thats
    why He gave this commandment.

Grace? Just how much grace do you thank you have?

Enought to cover a multitude of Sabbath days.

So, the part of the Law that you choose is abolished? There are many more laws than that of the Sabbath. Read Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. If you are following ALL the law (as the NT says you must if you are going to follow the Law) then feel free to preach at me or anyone else about observing the Sabbath because God told us to.

BTW, refernces to the Sabbath (and the other laws) are almost exclusive to the Israelites. Nothing was presented for the salvation or atonement of the Gentiles until Christ. And even Christ broke the "law" of the Sabbath.

At least according to the Pharisees.

Well, if your not an Israelite, then do nothing, your choice.
But, the gentiles are to be a part of the Israelites. We
gentiles are to be grafted in, to become heirs.

If you adopt a child into your family, he/she will follow the same
rules as your blood children, right? Or would you give them
    special priviledges?

Yeshua Messiah kept the Sabbath, I don't know where you come
up with that notion that He didn't? Maybe a pastor friend or
something, don't know, but Yeshua Messiah was the Law, is the
Law, and always will be the Law.

    Jhn 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God.

Jhn 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.

    Jhn 1:3
All things were made by him; and without him was not
any thing made that was made.

Jhn 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

    Jhn 1:10
He was in the world, and the world was made by him,
and the world knew him not.

    Jhn 1:11
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

    Jhn 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth.

Your Father walked on this earth, and even the rabbi's, and teachers
of the time wouldn't except Him, or His truth, or His commandments.

It holds true to this very day, man wants to come up with his
    own way to salvation.

    Pro 12:15
The way of a fool [is] right in his own eyes: but he that
    hearkeneth unto counsel [is] wise.

    Isa 65:2
I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious
people, which walketh in a way [that was] not good, after their
    own thoughts;

    Eze 11:21
But [as for them] whose heart walketh after the heart
of their detestable things and their abominations, I will
recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD.

*sigh* ya'll don't get it do you? You don't have to celebrate the sabbath. You don't have to follow the laws set forth, but you WILL miss out on the blessings that come from following the laws...no not to the letter, but as a guide for living. Sabbath is ment as a day of rest. You can work all 7 days if you want, but you're gonna die by the time you're 50 wishing you had spent more time with friends and family in fellowship. You miss out on blessings. That's the point!!! good grief.

To tell people they do not have to keep the Sabbath, is to tell
them to die the eternal death, everlasting fire!!!!

    Exd 31:14
Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy
unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death:
for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off
    from among his people.

    Exd 31:15
Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

    Exd 31:16
Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the
sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations,
    for a perpetual covenant.

    Exd 31:17
It [is] a sign between me and the children of Israel
    for ever
: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and
on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

A perpetual covenant is forever, never ending !!

"To tell people they do not have to keep the Sabbath, is to tell

No, its not. This was the same problem Paul had with people called judiziers in his ministry..check this out.."We who are Jews by birth and not "Gentiled sinners" know that a man is NOT justifie by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ." by not observing the sabbath they will not go to a "eternal death, everlasting fire."

    Read your bible.

Act 15:10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

Act 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

Act 15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

Act 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and [from] fornication, and [from] things strangled, and [from] blood.

    Act 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things ;

Act 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

    Amen MOG.

Camaro the Bible also says, that by the works of the law shall NO flesh be justified. I am justified by Jesus Christ, not by the law. If you seek to be justified by the law, then make sure you keep the whole law.
You are doing the same thing as the Judaizers did to the Gentile believers, who were telling them they had to be circumsized.
You have no right and no biblical authority to say anyone who does not keep the Sabbath will go to hell.

We can also add a few more verses to this also.

    I Timothy 1:7 - 10

7 ) - "Desiring to be teachers of the law: understanding neither what they say , nor whereof they affirm"

8 ) "But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully"

9 ) - "Knowing this , that the law is not made for a righteous man , but for the lawless and disobedient , for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers"

10 ) - "For whoremongers , for them that defi8le themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liears, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine"

Well ! That is what the Law is good for ! :(

Gods servent is crying out to you all.
But you choose not to hear His vioce
    in His servent.

Untill you all understand there are 2 different laws
being talked about in these scriptures, you will not
have a full understanding of the scriptures.

    There is mans law(s)
    false pastors/teachers/pharisees

And there are Gods Laws !

Do you people even know who, and what the pharisees

    Strong's Number 5330 (Pharisaios)
A sect that seems to have started after the Jewish exile. In
addition to OT books the Pharisees recognised in oral tradition a
standard of belief and life. They sought for distinction and
praise by outward observance of external rites and by outward
    forms of piety
, and such as ceremonial washings, fastings,
prayers, and alms giving; and, comparatively negligent of genuine
piety , they prided themselves on their fancied good works.

They held strenuously to a belief in the existence of good and evil
angels, and to the expectation of a Messiah; and they cherished
the hope that the dead, after a preliminary experience either of
reward or of penalty in Hades, would be recalled to life by him,
and be requited each according to his individual deeds. In
opposition to the usurped dominion of the Herods and the rule of
the Romans, they stoutly upheld the theocracy and their country's
cause, and possessed great influence with the common people.
According to Josephus they numbered more than 6000. They were
bitter enemies of Jesus and his cause; and were in turn severely
rebuked by him for their avarice, ambition, hollow reliance on
outward works, and affection of piety in order to gain popularity.

n : righteousness by virtue of being pious [syn: piousness]
Marked by false devoutness; solemnly hypocritical: a pious fraud.

I only share these things out of love.

Please don't read your Bible, study it to show thy self approved.

  17. tericl2

    tericl2 A Work in Progress

Here is a passage written directly to the Jews about the law.

    Hebrews 7
11 If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the law was given to the people), why was there still need for another priest to come--one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?
12 For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must also be a change of the law.
13 He of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe, and no one from that tribe has ever served at the altar.
14 For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.
15 And what we have said is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears,
16 one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life.
17 For it is declared: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek." [1]
18 The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless 19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God. 20 And it was not without an oath! Others became priests without any oath,
21 but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him: "The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: `You are a priest forever.'" [2]
    22 Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant. 23 Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office;
24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.
25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. 26 Such a high priest meets our need--one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
28 For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak; but the oath, [GLOW=silver]which came after the law[/GLOW] , appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever .

1.So, a new priesthood requires a new law.
2.Through Jesus we can be made perfect
    3.The law made nothing perfect
    4. New priest...better hope given to draw near to God
5.Jesus saves COMPLETELY those that come to God thru him
6.The OATH which signifies the change in preisthoods came AFTER the law
7.The oath appointed Jesus, who is perfect forever
8.Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE

I think I'll stick with Jesus. He is my high priest. I don't need OT laws and regulations to live by. We are under a new covenant, my friend and it is one of freedom in Christ, not of bondage to laws made under the OLD Covenant.
  18. TRUTH

TRUTH Prove All things! 1 Thes 5:21

Camaro540 - remeber that Luk 8:10 And He said, "To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that 'Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may NOT understand.'

2 Thes 2:9 The coming of the LAWLESS one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the LIE,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

ROM 2:26 Therefore, if an uncircumcised man keeps the RIGHTEOUS REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW , will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision?

MATT 7:23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice LAWLESSNESS!'

Not one of these people is going to tell you before God that it is ok to take the Lords name in vain, lie, steal, murder, covet and sleep with your neighbors wife - How do they know those things are not ok? Because the 10 commandments has and will always exisit and I will tell you that the Sabbath is a trmendous blessing to our family because we are business owners and it is WAY to easy to get caught up in it and work 7 days a week - we shut down on Saturday and it's our family day with God and it would be so without the commandment. It is not a burden it is a blessing to family and relationship with God.

Someone tell me why it's not ok to murder??

Or are we stuck on the Sabbath only?

Yes, this is scripture, filled with unstoppable truth.
But, do you really understand it?

We are not to take a scarifice to a priest for our sins.
We take them directly to Messiah, for He was our perfect

This does nothing to change Gods Commandments.

    Matthew 5:18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or
one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

    Romans 3:31
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Many people, known as “Jews”, thought that they could keep
God’s laws in “the flesh” and obtain eternal life. Many people,
known as “Christians”, think that they can break God’s laws
in “the Spirit” and obtain eternal life. Scripture proves that both
lines of thought are in error. Both groups of people
have “trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the
blood of the covenant... an unholy thing, and hath done despite
unto the Spirit of grace.” ....Hebrews 10:29

Those who seek salvation “by works of the law” are despising
the Spirit of grace by rejecting it, and those who “continue in sin”
are despising the Spirit of grace through it’s abuse.

The Apostle Paul tells us that “Israel, which followed after the law
of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of
righteousness...because they sought it not by faith, but as it
were by the works of the law.” He also tells us that those calling
themselves Christians, who attempt to “continue in sin that grace
may abound” and who obey not “unto righteousness”, yield
themselves to “sin unto death.” ......Romans 6:15-16

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the
commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
