quick off-topic maybe question; Corrie ten Boom suffered more than most people on the forum, or most Americans in the USA for that matter.... (she suffered in the holocaust) ..
afterwards, she became known worldwide as one of the only women sharing the truth of God's Love honestly, without compromise, in at least 63 countries (with no one backing her except God, no savings account per se, no one paying her travel expenses or doing fund raisers; instead she trusted God from the start and never asked for money , and God provided miraculously and continually for decades (Corrie learned to live right with God and gave her heart to Jesus at age 5, and that was definite - a life changing "circumcision of heart" (born again) experience that resulted in her whole life being God's to do with as HE wanted to ) .....

here's the question.... she did not practice nor observe the 7th day sabbath rest as far as I know (maybe she did? ) (like that guy in scotland or ireland? ) (long ago) ....

Also David Wilkerson, and Watchman Nee, both widely known like Corrie, for their true faithful Godly lives....

It remains a mystery to me , with no worry, doubt, anxiety nor fear at all,
why they did not learn, practice and observe the commandment ? (if anyone knows)

    (or if they did? )

And those people will live to be over 100. Why won't you write about that fact from Isaiah?

Looked up your quote from Matt2:27
27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

There is nothing about "mankind". Are you dyslexic?

That only proves that your know little about the new covenant and what loving others as Jesus loves us.

Hello, read Leviticus 23:37, 38..These are the Lord's appointed festivals, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies for bringing food offerings to the Lord - the burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings required for each day.
Verse 38. These festivals are in addition to the Lord's Sabbaths (plural), and these offerings are in addition to your gifts and whatever you have vowed and all the freewill you give to the Lord.

I have given you all the Lord's appointed festivals and Sabbaths..

If you said the 7th day Sabbath is for all mankind for all eternity, then why did God said that They should Not enter my rest...Hebrews 4:5..
So why you still forcing yourself to enter His rest...God set you and me a certain day and that is called "Today" Not the 7th day...

The truth about the Sabbath is not the same as conversion. The devil works extremely hard to keep the Sabbath obscure, because in doing so he hides the seal and character of God from so many. Those who stubbornly persist in warring against the Sabbath make manifest the spirit by which they are actuated in resorting to petty insults and ridicule. Some people are called to know and share about the clear perpetuity of all ten of God's commandments. Others are called to a different work. At the very end of time, the Sabbath controversy will be brought to the attention of all the world. Just as sin, and its exceeding power to ruin will be universally evident. This will be the crescendo of the conflict between good and evil. It will then be clear to all who loves Christ and who loves Him not. That time is not yet, but I don't see how it can tarry much longer. We see people like Kanye West professing Christ with tentative but apparent sincerity. Evil is being called good with exponentially increasing frequency. In our "civilized" society, the most shocking crimes are committed in broad daylight, with the perpetrators fully aware that cameras are trained intently upon them. The cup is nearly full.

Nobody here obeys the Sabbath commands.

Exodus 31:15 Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

The Baptist Confession of Faith, the Westminster Confession of Faith, D.L. Moody, the RCC and almost all other scholars freely admit that while all TEN of the TEN Commandments are still valid - yet the civil laws of a theocracy end when the theocracy ends.

The 4th commandment includes no commands about killing anyone. It is a moral law -- not a civil law.

    • The weekly Sabbath was never declared to be a feastival.
    • All the annual Sabbaths include sacrifices and offerings as part of the liturgy for the annual Sabbath - the weekly Sabbath does not.
    • All the annual Sabbaths of Lev 23 were given after the fall of mankind - but the weekly Sabbath was given in Eden in a perfect sinless context for mankind Ex 20:11 Genesis 2:1-3.
    • The weekly Sabbath is to be kept by all mankind for all eternity after the cross in the new Earth Isaiah 66:23 -- nothing of the kind is said for the Annual Sabbaths of Lev 23.

Hello, regarding the city in new heavens and new earth, there will be No night... Revelation 21:23-25...The city does not need sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is it lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring there splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there...

So if there are no more nights, how can a weekly Sabbath be measured?

Maybe Sabbath is not determined by day and night as in a weekly basis but by whatever works given to the people to do...

The Sabbath was given specifically to the children of Israel as an eternal covenant.
Exodus 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
Leviticus 24:8 Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.

Is24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Here we are told that the everlasting covenant was broken and the Sabbath was part of the covenant that would have been everlasting had Israel not desecrated it. God knew that the covenant He made with Israel would be broken and come to an end. Jer31 Jesus ushered in the new covenant at Calvary replacing the Sinai covenant in toto.

You have been reading or someone has been parroting Ellen White to you. Where does it say that the Sabbath was/is the character of God and His seal? Where in all of scripture does God require anyone except Israel to observe a day? Where did you get the idea that the devil is working hard to obscure the Sabbath that was given only to Israel? The devil, according to scripture, has never obscured the Sabbath from to whom it was given.

Sorry my friend, that is really the pot calling the kettle black. I happen to know the inner workings of the church you are trying to defend. I was part of those inner workings. I have read "Great Controversy" and how all other churches are culled by the writer and so called prophet. Those of us who are honest and open to the true meaning of scripture in the New Testament know that the ten commandments were not perpetual. They ended along with the rest of the laws of the Sinai covenant at Calvary. 2Cor3:6-11

I pray that Jesus will return soon. The fact is that the false prophet wrote way back in 1856 the following:
Ellen White Expected Christ’s Return in Her Day
I was shown the company present at the Conference. Said the angel: “Some food for worms, some subjects of the seven last plagues, some will be alive and remain upon the earth to be translated at the coming of Jesus.”—Testimonies For The Church 1:131, 132 (1856). Not only did she expect Jesus return, it was her angel from Heaven that informed her. Can we trust the likes of Ellen?

Sunday laws were on the books of almost all communities back in 1856. Now almost all communities have abolished those laws and most people care less when and where a person attends church. All of Christianity is being attacked by a few radicals. If we are going to go through tribulation it will be brought on by Muslims not churches that hold services on Sunday.

    Isaiah 66:23
    (23) And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
This does not say "every Sabbath shall all flesh come to worship before me." The phrase means from “month to month from week to week" IOW continually!
    Isaiah 56:4-6
    (4) For thus saith the LORD concerning the eunuchs that keep My sabbaths, and choose the things that please Me, and hold fast by My covenant:
    (5) Even unto them will I give in My house and within My walls a monument and a memorial better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting memorial, that shall not be cut off.
    (6) Also the aliens, that join themselves to the LORD, to minister unto Him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, and holdeth fast by My covenant:
Isa 56:4-6 is not a commandment for aliens to keep the Sabbath. It is saying that those who choose to keep the Lord's Sabbath will be better than sons and daughters etc.

It says "from Sabbath to Sabbath" -- just as the Bible uses the term "from year to year" to show a cyclic event that occurs annually each year.
    Exodus 13:10
    Judges 21:19
    1 Samuel 2:19

And in the case of Isaiah 66:23 we have two distinct cycles - a monthly one and a weekly one.

No text says "from new moon to new moon means every day"
No text says "from Sabbath to Sabbath means every day"
No text says "from new moon to new moon AND from Sabbath to Sabbath means every day of the year"

It is a command "for all mankind" for all eternity after the cross in the New Earth.

If you had that statement as a Bible text telling us that - it would be the first such text we have of that kind.

To keep from profaning the holy things of God -- is a command.

But it does NOT say "to keep from profaning the sabbath" lets read it again. , "every one that keepeth the Sabbath from profaning it, and holdeth fast by My covenant:" That is NOT a command it identifies a group who keeps the Sabbath and holds fast God's covenant.

Eugene Prewitt covers this issue in a lecture that is available on Youtube.

It seems that John Bunyan wrote an entire book refuting the necessity for Christians to keep the Sabbath. The main argument he gave was based on an experience he had in prison. He was evangelizing inside, of course, and he observed that while the keeping of the other nine commandments came fairly naturally to the new converts, none of them showed any interest in keeping the Sabbath. He therefore concluded that the Holy Spirit must not work to convict of sin in the matter of Sabbath observance.

As Brother Prewitt insightfully points out, there is a substantial flaw in Bunyan's hypothesis.

The principle embodied in the first three commandments would have been self-evident to the new converts coming, as they did, from backgrounds that were relatively free of idol worship and where even profligates new that foul language, however deeply ingrained, was not acceptable in polite society. Equally as obvious was the notion that a Christian would be exclusively loyal to the God Who had created and redeemed them.

As for the remaining six, they were alive and well in criminal law, the awareness of which would not have been much of stranger to prison inmates.

However, the likelihood that they came from an environment where a day of rest and worship was observed is decidedly less certain.

The law points out sin. The Spirit (barring miraculous cases) convicts regarding that which has been learned.

"...and how shall they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14)

Of course this is offered not in defense of the fourth commandment (since it needs none, being one of the ten) but to illustrate that a person cannot obey what they haven't been taught.

And so, a blessed Sabbath to all. (insomnia at work here)

I learned from Yahweh and Yahushua, from reading the RSV (the only Bible I had for years), to obey and honor all the commands of Yahweh, including His Shabbat 7th Day that He Sanctified Himself. He is and was very clear about this , without any shadow nor question nor any spot nor wrinkle at all. Perfect peace, perfectly in peace, with unlimited joy also, that no man can take away (except if I disobey, the joy of salvation may then be lost, and joyously restored as King David showed very enlighteningly :) ... ) ...

i.e. people who look only to Yahweh, learn from Him, the Truth, and only the Truth, with perfect justice, perfect righteousness, perfect judgment, perfect mercy, perfect love, and with no iniquity mixed in at all.
