I think "union/communion/fellowship/relationship" are all related in that the final three follow from the first. Jesus said,
22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. (Jn 17:22–23)
I think this speaks to what it is meant by 1 Corinthians 6:17 - "But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him".
That's a good start. What if we were to add "life" to what we share in common with the Father and the Son?Can't and won't disagree with that as far as I can see-darn. JK![]()
- For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself (Jn 5:26)
- For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. (Jn 5:21)
- And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 Jn 5:11–12)
- Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (Jn 5:24)
