Hi Jeremy welcome to the thread here. Please see the OP it is simply asking some questions if you can honestly answer these questions then you will know if God expects you to follow his 4th commandment or wheather you should practice Sunday Worship. The thread here is simply pointing to God's WORD and an honest heart to seek and follow Jesus.

Some do not know what faith is for...

ROMANS 3:31 [31], Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

We must be workman correctly dividing the word of truth...

The original (oldest) version of the ten commandments is found in Exodus 34. In it the fourth commandment is:

19 “The first offspring of every womb belongs to me, including all the firstborn males of your livestock, whether from herd or flock. 20 Redeem the firstborn donkey with a lamb, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck.

Interestingly it is the only version to self identify as "the ten commandments".

In this version the Sabbath day is the sixth commandment:

21 “Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.

Telling people that all food is clean is a perfect example of how traditions of men so often rule over what the Bible really says. First, when Messiah talked about food, he wasn't talking about things like pork and shell fish. Those things were no more considered food than road kill is considered food to you.

When Peter had his meat on the sheet dream he protested that he had never eaten anything unclean. This lets you know for sure that Messiah gave no new laws about food. (How could He? He is One with YHWH and "YHWH never changes.") Also in Acts 15 we see the Mosaic food laws being upheld, as in not eating strangled meat because strangled meat still has all the forbidden blood in it. Now those instructions were given to NON Jews. The idea that there is one set of laws for Jews and one for Gentiles is another tradition of men. The Old Testament says there is one Law for the native born and one for the "aliens." The New Testament says "There is neither Greek nor Jew." NOTHING says there are two sets of commandments or laws.

Was Pharaoh's baker's dream of bread in a basket about food? No. In fact, when dreams are given in Scriptures the meanings are also given. Two times, about Peter's dream, we are told "This means...." No mention of food is seen, only mention of the formerly unclean pagans who are being accepted by the Holy Spirit.

If anyone wants to see through traditions of men in mainstream Christianity I would suggest videos by Psalm 119 Ministries, starting with The Pauline Paradox. Using history and Scripture, they clear up many apparent contradictions in the New Testament.

If anyone wants to argue about this, sorry, I don't. If you don't see what the Scriptures are saying, as shown above, you won't listen to me either.

    Explain:
Jesus saying that what we eat doesn't makes us unclean but what comes out of the heart.
    Paul: There is nothing unclean.
Eat everything that is sold in the butcher shop without problems of conscience...
Let no one judge you about food and drink...

We are derrailing the thread with another issue but...

    Hi Bruce,

Welcome here and so nice to meet you. Please see some comments for your consideration.
So where is the scripture that says God's 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day? (please see the questions in the OP)
The CONTEXT of Hebrews 4:9 is the origin of the Sabbath as written in v3-4.

Hebrews 4:3 makes it very clear that the context of v9 is the SEVENTH DAY Sabbath referenced to GENESIS 2:1-3 which is the origin of the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH.

HEBREWS 4:3-4 [3] For we who have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. [4], For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day in this way, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

links back to the origin of the Sabbath and the 4th commandment...

GENESIS 2:1-3 [1], Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
[2], And ON THE SEVENTH DAY God ended his work which he had made; and he RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY from all his work which he had made. [3], And GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, and made it HOLY <the 7th day>: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

    links to...

EXODUS 20:8-11 [8], REMEBER [GENESIS 2:1-3] the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> [Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day] [9], Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: [10], But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
[11], For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT.

HEBREWS 4:9 [9], There remains a SABBATH REST to the people of God.

GREEK 4520. σαββατισμός sabbatismŏs, sab-bat-is-mos´; from a der. of 4521; a “sabbatism” Strong, J. (2009). A Concise Dictionary of the Words in the Greek Testament and The Hebrew Bible (Vol. 1, p. 64). Bellingham. The GREEK Word used here is Gr. "sabbatismos", a Sabbath rest, a rest from all work (Heb. 4:9; R.V., “sabbath”), a rest like that of God when he had finished the work of creation. Easton, M. G. (1893). In Easton’s Bible dictionary. New York: Harper & Brothers.

    INTERLINEAR GREEK
So then [αρα] there remains [απολειπεται] a sabbath rest [σαββατισμος] for the [τω]
people [λαω] - [του] of God [θεου]

The overall context of HEBREWS 4 is that no one enters into God's Sabbath rest without entering into the gospel rest v1-2.
Colossians 2 is talking about the laws in ORDINANCES from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT not God's 10 commandments v11 circumcision v16 is in reference to the annual Jewish feastivals and "special Sabbaths" of Leviticus 23 which could fall on any day of the week and where attached to specific feast days. This is not a reference to God's 4th commandment.

    SCRIPTURE SUPPORT HERE CLICK ME.
ROMANS 14 is talking about food connected to Holy days, fasting and not fasting and food offered to idols. There is no reference in this chapter to God's 4th Commandment. There is not a single scripture here that says God's 4th Commandment is abolished as we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day. The discussion of Romans 14 was never God's 4th commandment versus Sunday which was never an issue in that time period.
Indeed and not one jot or tittle was to pass from the law.
Where is the scripture that says God's 4th commandment is now abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day? You have not provided anything so far. Where does it say in God's WORD that Sunday is "the LORD'S DAY"?

Yet we read in God's Word...

MATTHEW 12:8 [8] For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Seems the "LORD'S DAY" is the Sabbath day not Sunday.
Scripture please (see OP) Where does it say that Jesus is a Sabbath? The only scripture references of the Sabbath are to a day of rest. Where does it say that God's 4th Commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day? Scripture please, you have provided none showing that God's 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day. (Please see OP)
The Sabbath rest is different from the gospel rest. You cannot enter into God's Sabbath rest without first entering into the gospel rest (Hebrews 4) None of the above says that God's 4th commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day.

    Thanks for sharing Bruce.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Jack,

So nice to meet you here and welcome. Actually that is not correct what you have written above. You will find the correct passages of when God spoke the 10 commandments to his people in Exodus 20.

    Hope this helps.

Not at all. They are Pauls words not mine (Romans 3:31). It show that it is only by faith, that God's law can be establsihed in the heart of the BELIEVER. This is the NEW COVENANT promise of LOVE which fulfills the LAW in those who BELIEVE God's WORD and walk in his Spirit (Romans 13:8-10; Romans 8:1-4; Hebrews 8:10-12). Salvation is from sin not in sin to those who abide in Christ (1 John 3:3-9). LOVE is the fulfilling of God's LAW in those who BELIEVE and is why Jesus says if you LOVE me keep my commandments (John 14:15)

Those 4 laws had nothing to do with the law of Moses. They were a rabbinical invention (laws of Noah) that gentile proselytes had to observe to attend synagogues.

Hi NBB, nice to meet you here and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Where does it say in anything you have posted above that God's 4th Commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?

Colossians 2 is talking about the laws in "ORDIANCES from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT not the 10 commandments. (see context from v11 to v17), The topic of discussion here is CIRCIUMCISION and also the laws in ORDINANCES from the annual Jewish festivals which included the "Special Sabbath" that were connected to these yearly festivals that could fall on any day of the week. There is no reference here to God's 4th Commandment. Even if there was the scripture is only saying do not let anyone judge you. It does NOT say God's 4th commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day. (Please read the OP).

Further scripture support linked here CLICK me.

ACT 15 is talking about the laws in ORDINANCES from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT and not the 10 commandments. The shadow laws of CIRCUMCISSION as a requirement for salvation was the issue being discussed here not the 10 Commandments.

ACT 15:1-2 [1], And certain men who came down from Judea taught the brethren, and said, Except you be circumcised after the manner of Moses, you cannot be saved. [2], When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and dispute with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question [which question? CIRCUMCISION].

If your interpreting the above to mean God's 10 commandments have been ABOLSIHED then you will need to reconcile the scriptures that disagree with this understanding in the link below...

And, the Pauline contradictions are apparent - but I am not convinced he is actually as blasphemous as his own proponents would make him out to be.

How do you know is not talking literally about the sabbath or different sabbaths?
If he is talking about the sabbath which is the more literal clean interpretation then it doesn't say anything about sunday really but is saying we do not need to observe the sabbath or sunday to like Christ.

Bible scholars believe that Exodus 20 was written at least a century after Exodus 34 and the Deuteronomy version is several centuries after that. Why three versions? And why is the original totally ignored?

Totally untrue. Completely made up nonsense. Acts 21 refers back to Acts 15.

And they are informed of thee [Paul], that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.... thou thyself [Paul] also walkest orderly, and keepest the law. As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication. Acts 21:21, 24-25

Good question NBB, the topic and conversation of Colossians 2 is the laws in ORDIANANCES from the MOSIAC book of the covenant and shadow laws that have their fulfillment in Christ. The chapter CONTEXT is CIRCUMCISION v11 pointing to the circumcision in Christ. v14 is laws in ORDIANCES (GREEK word here is civil, ceremonial and ecclesiastical laws written in a manuscript). v16 is a reference to the annual Jewish festivals of Leviticus 23 which also included "special Sabbaths" not the 4th Commandment. These "special Sabbaths" could fall on any day of the week depending on the yearly cycle. Colossians 2:16 is a direct reference back to the Old Testament scriptures and laws from the Mosaic book of the covenant.
