Why do you care?
Why can't you answer the question? I care to ask because I hope to help you. Whatever that reason is. It's just that based on the reactions yourself and many others on this forum have displayed, myself and many others are getting mixed signals as to what you hope to accomplish here.

Of course different viewpoints should be allowed on this site, I already acknowledged that. What isn't allowed, as per forum rules, however, is blasphemy and mockery of God, the Bible or the Christian faith. Non-Christians do not have to agree with Christians, but they are not to call Christianity, the Bible or God a "myth" or a "fairytale." (Or other similar terms). This is the conduct I was referring to.

Blasphemy and Contempt of Christianity

"It is considered blasphemy to insult or mock Christianity or any part of the Trinity-Father (God), Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. Honest debate about the nature of God and Christian Theology is allowed, but derogatory remarks are not. Contemptuous remarks regarding Christianity or Christian practices are not allowed."

"Those who do not adhere to the Statement of Faith are welcome as members and participants in discussions, but you are required to respect these beliefs, even if you do not share them."

"By using this website, you acknowledge your acceptance and understanding of these rules. These rules apply to all communications made on this site."

Purpose of being here is not relevant. The content of posts is what is relevant.

I often see, those who get defensive about the content of posts, evading the content by asking why someone is posting here.

I really should have started this thread in general apologetics. But for some reason I cannot post there. I really was looking for answers from other Christians, not atheists. I am very familiar with atheist arguments on this issue. This thread has become a megaphone for atheists to ridicule Christian faith. Please, I don't go to atheist forums and rant about the evils of atheism (what a waste of my time that would be)... why do those hostile to Christianity come here? To gawp at us like animals in a zoo?

I don't mind atheists posting to this forum in a respectful manner the rules of the forum should be kept in mind:

This thread, and numerous others here, have had too many instances of belittling of the Christian faith. Our faith has been compared to a crumbling edifice designed to manipulate our humanity towards nefarious ends. An image that in my mind conjure up the ghosts of the regimes of Pol Pot and Joseph Stalin, not Sunday morning at a mainline church where the most offensive thing is probably the green jello or the coffee.

You have no right to assert, without evidence, that I am a misanthrope, merely because I take an orthodox Christian position on human depravity. Lots of other Christians have done so as well, such as the late theologian and pastor Reinhold Niebhur, who made and make significant contributions in the US in the area of social justice (hardly typical for a misanthrope to care about such things). So please, stop with the bigotry.

If this is to be a philosophy forum, it must be the honest pursuit of truth (that's what philosophy is after all, the love of wisdom), and not merely a place to voice ignorant, bigoted opinions of the Christian faith.
Direct from the OP. Just to remind everyone (the atheists in particular) who still wish to continue "debating" the existance of God. Stay blessed FireDragon76.

The OP can ask to have the mods move this thread, no one is stopping him.

In the meantime, i would deal with reality.

Unignoring you for the moment:

And the OP specifically requested not to hear your position. Perhaps you should honor his request.

As I said to the OP:
Please keep in mind that this is (supposedly) a philosophy forum, meaning that your feelings of offence are irrelevant and can only be construed as whining. It's interesting though that you recognise your privileged position here: being a Christian, you are apparently allowed to claim offence and peddle baseless accusations of bigotry. On the other hand, I cannot express what offends me because, apparently, it offends you, and your view just happens to be the one that this forum was designed to protect. Again, it's worthwhile bearing in mind that this is a philosophy forum. If you want to be coddled, go to General Theology.

Why are you so concerned about what I "hope to accomplish," here? Is your activism so rigid as to prevent you from having rational discussions?

Why is it so difficult to answer the question? I am here to provide biblical answers to anyone who wishes to ask. To provide a Christian answer to people who come to a Christian forum to get Christian answers. If you are not on a Christian forum to ask questions about Christianity in order to get a Christian answer, why come here at all? There are plenty of philosophy forums out there, why not go there instead. There are plenty of atheist forums who have philosophy sections. I know because you can find me on TTA in the Philosophy section. So why go through all the trouble with dealing with christians?

Then he should have thread moved by mods, nothing is stopping him.
The quote from the OP that I so kindly provided for you explains that he has tried to get it moved. Since he could not, he kindly asked atheist not to participate if they were going to attack christianity.

I'm fairly confident that my biblical knowledge exceeds that of the average Christian here at CF, so I don't need help from you on that front.

What I'm really interested in is, how well can you articulate your arguments, and, judging by your current level of frustration, doesn't seem to be going as smooth as you'd hoped. If you're interested in being "the bible answer man," maybe the Christian's Only section could be a safe place for you. But this is an open philosophy forum, so you should expect your ideas and assertions to be tested. Personally, I love it when another points out a flaw in my reasoning, as I want to accept as many true things as possible.

I'm intentionally ignoring your question, because A, it's really none of your business, and B, it doesn't really matter why I'm here. Either one can have a reasonable discussion / disputation, or they can't.

Here is a link to a forum in the TTA philosophy section.

http://www.thethinkingatheist.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=38134

In answer to your question. The motivation for behind me wanting to know why others are posting on this forum is simple. To determine if their posts are worth anyone's attention. The reason why yourself and several others are on my ignore list was because I have determined that they are not worth my time. So why should anyone give an atheist activist like yourself any attention? Why should they waste their time with you?

These are exactly the questions I have as well. As a Christian I am sincerely willing to answer questions and concerns (to the best of my ability) that non-Christians may have. Such discussions and even debates are more than welcome here.

However, those who have no such questions, but who have instead made up their minds concerning Christianity, seem to be here for the sole purpose of refuting and attacking the Christian faith, and Christians themselves at every turn. These individuals are the ones who honestly concern me. It seems that several people here have made it a game to do such things. They seem genuinely frustrated and even angry that they are continually coming across the same Christians and the views of Christians on this forum.

It appears that their intent is to try to get Christians to wake up and see how foolish they are being to believe in God. As such I am concerned for Christians who may be new to their faith and/or are going through a difficult time in their faith. This should be a safe place for them, not a place for games.
