Philly 5/14

Cleveland 12/10

Yea, not cheap but definetly and totally worth it. I only went to one Elevation concert and I had seats....I'm making up for it this year!
That’s awesome! And you’re also going Bono's birthday concert. Incredible!! You’re definitely having a great U2 year.. I feel a bit jealous but happy for you at the same time :D I could only dream of having 5 G.A tickets including Bono's birthday.
rainbowprism said:
Neenie, I am sure that they'll come to Aussieland. Everything just got pushed back when they delayed the tour....
Yeah..I have hope that they come down here, when they do I will be making every effort into getting G.A tickets for both Melbourne and Sydney. During Popmart it took a year to get here, I don't care how long they take.

And as for Ali Hewson, I saw really good pic of Ali, Bono and their designer posted in the pleba section of Interference a while ago. I think it was from Vogue magazine But Ali looked really young, like in her 20's.

Would you have that rainbowprism? I can't find it. thanks if you can post it though

YES!!! U2! I just joined CF, and am ecstatic to discover this thread. I find that (in my group of friends anyway) U2 is very underappreciated.

I have that problem too! My friends only know the over-played radio U2 songs, and not any of the other ones.

I've had this friend for years, and every time I mention U2, she says, "yeah, i'm not a big fan of U2". She has told me this so many times, and never remembers telling me, so it is so annoying.

I know! I almost went into shock when one of my friends asked me who U2 was!!! Does she live on earth? [/QUOTE]

I know what you mean. I have friends that rank one-hit wonder pop stars/bands over U2, or don't even know who they are period. It gets irritating.

I saw U2 on their Popmart tour at Murrayfield stadium in Edinburgh, it must have been mid/late 90s some time. I love their early stuff which I found really raw and emotive ('40' is easily my favourite renditioning of a Psalm) but was a tad skeptical about anything after Achtung baby.

Needless to say the show was utterly amazing, they played all their big hits from Joshua Tree, Rattle & Hum. The best part was when they emerged from the giant lemon-cum-glitter ball for the finale! Truly amazing :D

Nice to see you post in here theFijian! :D Thats really cool you went to a popmart concert, the Edinburgh show was on the 02-09-1997. I have it on Mp3 :)

Yeah.. It was a bumpy ride during the 90's for U2. I do agree their early stuff was more raw and emotive than their 90's, but they've gone back to their roots with the last couple of albums, especially the latest one. It's more about the music than the special effects. Bono even said U2 were being something they wasn't during the 90's, I'm glad they experimented but sometimes but I think they did it for too long.

As for "40" They've actually just brought it back as the main closer for the Vertigo concert (the full band version) The last time they played in full was back in 1990 at the end of the lovetown tour.

Absolutely! ^_^ I've watched the video sooo many times :D My favorite part is the segue between "Please" and "where the streets have no name" when Bono does that opera part. Also the giant lemon and olive part for Discotheque was a big highlight for the show.

I also remember my 666 post :D It's about time they got rid of that evil number! ;)

Anyway, Good quiz Athanasian Creed  I'm glad I have a few good books such as "Into the Heart" "Walk on""Get Up Off Your Knees" and spending a lot of time on U2 sites. If I hadn't read those, I would've had no clue on the faith ones. I recommend these books to other U2 fans who are interested the in the band and their faith. "Into the Heart" is my favorite book for the story behind very song.
