[3] Fear of Eternal Death, because of sin, which is transgression of His Holy, Just and Good Law -

Hebrews 2:15 KJB - And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Romans 6:23 KJB - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:16 KJB - Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

God/Jesus delivers from these, and gives Rest, which is the bringing us back into harmony with Himself, and His Ways and His Law, thus no longer at enmity, no longer in bondage, no longer servants of satan, but chilren of the Living God:

Exodus 20:2 KJB - I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Exodus 20:6 KJB - And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Exodus 20:8 KJB - Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Exodus 20:9 KJB - Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

Exodus 20:10 KJB - But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Exodus 20:11 KJB - For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

For True Rest, is found in God's empowering grace to obey God in His Law, not rebelling against Him in His Law. It is fully trusting in His saving Grace and Power to deliver from Sin/Selfishness, that we put away our own works for deliverance, put away sins, which are transgressions of His Holy Law, by that same Grace, but Rest with Him in His Rest, For He Delivers. The 7th Day Sabbath is the Sign of the Finished Work of Jesus, not only in Creation, but also in Salvation, Redemption in His death, He Rested. Who will trust and belive in His Finished Work with us?

Lucifer in Heaven, brought discord, strife and unrest when he rebelled and sinned in Heaven. And he again brought the same to our first parents, Adam/Eve. He [satan] brings the same to all who will refuse God, and refuse rest with Him [God/Jesus] in the 7th Day of His own choosing.
[4] The Burden of serving wicked Kings in rigorous bondage, because of their rebellions against God, and therefore their needs of chastizing Leviticus 26:13; Deuteronomy 28:48; Isaiah 9:4, 10:27, 14:25; Jeremiah 27:8; 1 Kings 12:11; Psalms 81:6 KJB, etc. For Israel in the time of Jesus was under the bondage of the Roman yoke, for their many transgressions.

Transgression and yoke of Bondage are linked:

Jeremiah 2:20 KJB - For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.

Lamentations 1:4 KJB - The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand: they are wreathed, and come up upon my neck: he hath made my strength to fall, the Lord hath delivered me into their hands, from whom I am not able to rise up.
The Devil is the Master Bondsman, enslaving all into sin and selfishness. He says get back to work, do not rest as God says, and do not listen to vain and idle words [of His Commandments], even as he said through Pharoah. The devil says the same through the world today... get back to work! Do not listen to God's requirements.

Yet Jesus came to set us free from the bondage of the Cruel Taskmaster, and brings us safely back into Harmony with Himself:

Isaiah 14:3 KJB - And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

Exodus 33:14 KJB - And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
The Commandments of God are not burdensome, not grievious, but a joy and delight:

1 John 5:2 KJB - By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

1 John 5:3 KJB - For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Love to God and man, is the keeping of the Ten Commandments of God, by the powerful Grace and Love of God.

Hosea 11:4 KJB - I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.
Those who worship the Beast, have no rest:

Revelation 14:11 KJB - And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
As God said to Israel of Old, so it is to be said unto us, Israel of "Today":

Deuteronomy 12:9 KJB - For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you.
"Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest ..."

These know better and are not ignorant and they need to repent.

Jude 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

Jude 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

    Thanks bro. D.

Therefore, since they are not ignorant, I will not put up with their fair speeches, as their eternal life is at stake and others reading (this is war, the great controversy, and it gets ugly (though I hate that it is so) at times, and I am personally tired of war):

Romans 16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Where is our "camp" Loren, according to Galatians and Revelation?

Galatians 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Revelation 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Therefore, when have I, as a Christian, whose name is written in Heaven (Luke 10:20; Hebrews 12:23), left the Holy City and my place therein?

Who said it was? Please cite that person.

Jesus never said, "Never hate." Love includes "hate":

Jude 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Psalms 101:3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

Psalms 119:104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

Psalms 119:113 SAMECH. I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.

Psalms 119:128 Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.

Psalms 119:163 I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.

Psalms 139:22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Zechariah 8:17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.

Revelation 2:6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Revelation 2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

The text does not say that either, it says:

Matthew 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Proverbs 3:30 Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

Proverbs 24:28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.

There is a right and wrong 'lust', since 'lust' is simply desire, for good or evil.

1 Corinthians 10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

'lust' is simply desire (same exact Koine Greek word):

Luke 22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:

Philippians 1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

1 Thessalonians 2:17 But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.

Matthew 13:17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

When a person is hungry or thirsty, they "desire" (lust) for food and drink.

Yet, correct, as Christians we are not to "lust" after that which does not belong to us, as Eve did to the Tree.

Christ Jesus gives strength to overcome all sin. Yes or no? Why do you look to human examples, when Christ Jesus is the example? It is foretold:

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

    What was John saying?

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

    Was John deluded?

    What of Jude?

Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

    Was Jude deluded?

What was the message to each of the churches? Overcome, or continue in being overcome?

Christ Jesus has, and is not merely the substitute, but is the example, as already demonstrated to you.

Christ Jesus had the same fallen flesh as we have. What excuse is there for sin? None.

As we say a thousand times (though your fingers are still in your ears and hands over your eyes), Christ Jesus is the one who saves us from (not in) our sins (1 John 3:4).

Their failure was lack of faith, even as many today, which keep saying that no one can overcome and keep God's commandments.

    Romans 9:32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

Absolutely. His works were finished from the foundation of the world, the 7th day the sabbath, the sign of entering into His rest with Him, and cessation from one's own works, having taken up His will (Psalms 40:8) instead, through faith.

No. Salvation was given as the gift. One can lose salvation (become eternally lost, twice dead) by unrepentance when the Holy Ghost brings convictin of sin (1 John 3:4). Salvation can never be earned. You have the idea reversed.

You have the idea backwards again.

    What does Christ Jesus require:

Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

Christ Jesus is your Elder brother. Transgression of the 4th Commandment (Exodus 20:8-11; John 14:15; Exodus 20:6) is sin/tresspass (1 John 3:4) against Him. Will you not repent? he will forgive you and cleasne you from all unrighteousness.

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

It is not a matter of "wishes", but of "commandment" and "sin".

All obedience is to be a response of love. For obedience to the will of God is love to God in response to what was given.

"A 'law'"??? Where may this law be found to be written in scripture, to compare to that which is written upon the heart?

God said in Jeremiah (and elsewhere), "my law". Context? Ten Commandments. Go read Jeremiah and elsewhere.

Ten Commandments written upon the heart, since the Law of God is spiritual.

The Sabbath of the Lord is not "ceremonial", but "spiritual" (Romans 7:14), and it was God who rested in Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11. It is His rest, which is spiritual, not ceremonial, since it existed before the sin of mankind.

If it ain't one thing it is slipping to another point, without having acknowledged the first point.

The 'old covenant' is not the Ten Commandments.

The Ten Commandments are the eternal and everlasting covenant of God, since that is what God writes upon the heart of the redeemed.

Yes, since you need to read Exodus 19 and 24. Here is the old covenant that God made with Israel:

Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
Exodus 19:6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
Exodus 19:7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.
Exodus 19:8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.

That was three days before God even spoke aloud the Ten Commandments in awesome majesty. God's "my covenant" is not the 'old covenant', which is their faulty promises ("all the Lord ahth said we will do") in response to God's "if ... then ..."

The two are not exclusive. Since the Law of God is to be written upon the Heart, even as it was upon the Heart of Christ Jesus (Psalms 40:8), He being the Living Ark. Jesus is the human example.

There are two bodies on earth.

The Holy Spirit is given to those who obey God in His commandments:

Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

There are two spirits, a true and false, and obedient and disobedient:

Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

This is troubling. Point at what you perceive as error and you believe you are teaching truth.. It is what you perceive and you wish to delude these good Christians into thinking it's what God perceives. What you are doing is accusing the brethren. Why is it so important to you to offend the followers of Christ? Why not stick to expressing truth? This is the way it works. Truth exposes error by contrast. Not a thing needs to be said but the truth. No finger needs to be pointed. You know you plant a seed and all that. Pointing fingers at people as a general rule plants the wrong kind of seeds. Unless it's your dad. You aren't anyone's dad here are you? If you want to know how it looks from above you, please study the teachings of Christian masters.. Here's a rule of thumb, in as much as blame is an outward expression it is an inward reality. The more guilt is denied internally the more it is affirmed externally. Your statements imply you speak for God. Don't kid yourself because if you believe it you kid everyone else around you. You aren't going to convince Christians who know their faith that your accusations carry any weight. If you want to worship God on Saturday no one is trying to convince you to worship on Sunday.. You are compelled to convince others to worship on Saturday though. It's not because you don't want them to go to hell because it's not a sin to worship God. On some level you know that. Maybe you do that to convince yourself that you are not?

What Christian church still kept the Saturday sabbath after 200AD? I believe the great falling away was perhaps the Roman church in 1054.

That's the point. You cannot stop sinning on your own effort *to* be saved. You cannot stop sinning on your own effort in order to *continue* being saved. It must be through the free grace of Jesus Christ. Therefore, it is a contradiction to also state that a sabbath, law, or anything must be *done* for salvation. Anything we do is in *response* to already *being* saved or in salvation. They are a response of saying "thank you God" and of opening ourselves to being transformed into greater maturity through the Holy Spirit, and not a requirement or condition of salvation.

To claim on one hand grace through faith alone and then on the other hand that we must *do* something such as sabbath observation to earn a place in heaven, therefore rejecting grace, is a contradiction.

Interesting about how you quote Matthew 7:20 here considering the fruits you yourself have been demonstrating in your interaction with people. If there is little evidence of the fruit of the Spirit in your conversation, I wonder what that could mean?

Sorry bekkilyn, it seems you did not understand post # 356 linked click me, or the scriptures in them. I suggest you read these scriptures again prayerfully and slowly. If you are not Born again to walk in God's Spirit you will not follow him who calls you in LOVE to LOVE another.

There is no contradiction as it is only by LOVE that we can be obedient to God's WORD and is why Jesus says If you LOVE me keep my commandments. To do this we must be Born again to LOVE. It is only by LOVE that that we can fulfill God's LAW. This is the operation of God and the NEW COVENANT promise of a new heart of those who BELIEVE God's WORD.

Those who know GOD follow him because they LOVE him. God's sheep here his voice (Word)

May God help you as you seek him through is Word.

You don't show love to someone by refusing their priceless gift and insisting that they can only give it to you if you pay for it. That's an insult.

Hello W2L, then prove it from scripture. Simply speaking your own words over God's WORD only shows you have no scripture to share for what you believe. This is said with all respect and only posted as a help to you my friend.

All the SHADOW laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the OLD COVENANT were all a part of UNFINISHED WORK (prophecies) which all pointed to JESUS and God's plan of salvation (Deuteronomy 31:9; 24-26; Exodus 24:3-4; 7; Colossians 2:14-17; Deuteronomy 29:21)

Where as God's LAW (10 Commandments) are the ETERNAL LAWS of GOD spoken by GOD and written by GOD'S own finger on two tables of stone. God's SABBATH is the 4th Commandment of the 10 Commandments written on stone that give us a KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is if broken (Romans 3:20; 7:7; James 2:11; 1 John 3:4; Exodus 20:8-11)

Some questions you will need to answer that you have ignored...

How can God's 4th Commandment be a SHADOW law...

    1. If it is not a part of God's plan of salvation and it was created as part of the FINISHED WORK of CREATION BEFORE SIN entered the World, when mankind was in perfect harmony with God and because there was no sin there was no plan of salvation (Genesis 2:1-3)?

    2. God says the Sabbath is an EVERLASTING COVENANT (Exodus 31:16) ?

3 It was Spoken by God and written by God's own finger as part of the 10 Commandments on Stone?

    4. The 10 Commandments give us a KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is?

    5. The 10 Commandments are the standard in the Judgment (James 2:8-12; Romans 2:12-13)

    ................

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)
Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

    ................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

So, if we are to love both those that hate us and our brothers and sisters, who is there left to hate?

Ok, you never sin, got it. Of course, I don't believe it for a moment, because the most godly people I have ever known still do sin occasionally. Lots of talk here about the Sabbath, but no one mentions "Do not covet." There is not a person alive who does not covet, most daily. Maybe if you become a monk and isolate yourself from everyone, you could keep from coveting for a while.
I've spent plenty of time in holiness churches growing up. I know all about the idea that you can live above sin and be fully sanctified. And unfortunately, all about the hypocrisy of those who thought they had reached that goal. I'd rather, you be honest with me, than pretend you are perfect, then we could have a real conversation.
No, we have no excuse for our sinning. And yes, Jesus is our example. But, still we sin, and if we say we don't, we lie.
