Not significantly different.

Yet…
The invader looks like my wife, sounds like my wife, has the same DNA as my wife, she even married a guy just like me in her timeline, I get that. But they are separate people. They are not the same person.

the Star Trek episode deals with this… Parallels
I don't know what you mean by "deals with this". There are multiple Worfs too. The episode followed one of the Worfs shifting through multiple timelines, but he was replacing the Worfs that previously occupied them. There is a Worf that married Deanna, and he is a different Worf from the one we know. They are not the same Worf. They are separate Klingons.

But how attached are you, to people being as they are, anyway?
So it doesn't matter that I didn't marry the invader as long as she's really really similar to the woman I did marry?

That's all fine, but it doesn't help your claim in any way.

In infinite multiverses, other than QM 'Many Worlds', it's thought that everything possible happens in some universe; but that doesn't mean you can communicate or interact with them (that's why they're called separate universes) - and even if you could, there would be an infinitely small chance of encountering one like ours.

Not so much
Well, it may not matter to you, but I want the woman I married, not this imposter. And that other woman isn't coming back into my house until she brings my wife with her... But then they can both stay ;)

the theory of this Effect… is a theory

yet I have no better explanation
It's not a scientific theory - it's not even a scientific hypothesis. It's fantasy in a pseudoscientific cloak - like Star Trek.

We already have a well-tested theory that explains the observations. That it doesn't satisfy your emotional needs is unfortunate, but by educating yourself about the facts, you have a better chance of dealing with it than by indulging in fantasies.

Just to clarify…

Each timeline is our Universe, merely one choice different…

And that's why changes are noticed. People are the same, not imposters…

Please tell me...

What choice was made that resulted in New Zealand changing position by several thousand kilometers?

I think that it doesn't matter to you because you're the invader in our timeline.

how do you know this is your timeline?

you may have shifted hundreds of times

I was shifting long before I realized it
