I'm asking him to define what he sees the sides as, and I will tell him which one I'm on. I know what the sides are, but his narrative might be different then mine, so I'm asking so my answer can line up with the way he thinks.
I do not think that we are headed toward a civil war. We are just extremely polarized. We can still avert such by talking and listening and acting with “the other side” to the mutual benefit of all Americans.

You have asserted that we are in a “cold civil war”, obviously, then, you have decided which “side” you’re already on, my query just asked “which?”

Arguing in such a way as to not “lose” means than you can never be sure if you’ve won.

The rest of us can then ignore what you have to say because you won’t come out and actually say what you mean.

Have a great day!

You obviously don't see my meaning, but that's okay.
I hope something serious can be avoided too, I just believe the division is too great. There are a lot of issues, and it is somewhat complicated. But I am on the side of conservatism, capitalism, saving the republic, and less government involvement and control, in a nutshell.

Does this mean you are willing to kill American citizens for these issues? I know you are hoping something serious is avoided, but if it can't, are the issues you described above valuable enough to kill your neighbor?

But is not useful to suppose that the "other side" are uniformly against all those things.

I dunno, I think your side has pretty much disappeared now that Trump is in charge. Hopefully it can be resurrected after Trump leaves.

This is a tough topic, but I will only take another human life in a form of defense. I am willing to fight and die for liberty and freedom. That is what many of our forefathers did, and I will do it too, if it comes to that. But I will try everything in my power to avoid it.

I disagree. Are you sympathetic to those causes, or are you being sarcastic?

I'm sympathetic to the extent that I'd like the conservatives back to balance the liberals. I'm a centrist.

If you truly feel that way, then I would encourage you to vote for Trump. If he does not win, then the liberals will get even worse. There's a reason they hate him so much.

That was the point of my comment: many liberals believe sincerely that Trump represents the most serous danger to the Republic.

Yes. Although most of them don't want a republic. They want socialism.

How are you defining "socialism?" If you are using the term in its correct sense (and not just whining about social safety nets) then socialism--which nobody wants anyway--is not inconsistent with a republican form of government. Socialism is an economic system; republican government is political system.

Socialism equals more government control. How can you say no one wants that? There's all kinds of people that want more government power.

Uh, no. In case you didn't see it, my username is soldier of the cross.
Would to God the division in this country was not like it is. Civil war is the last thing I would want. But it is here.

You seem like a very easily manipulated person. You should really think this all through.

People, we are on the verge of a full on socialist takeover of the USA. If we need an election delay so we can further eliminate opportunities for incorrect voting, its the least we should do in defense of liberty.
By this^ I mean voting for the wrong candidate.

How do I seem like I could be easily manipulated? And what are you saying I should think through?
I find it rather humorous you should say that because I have always been a bit of a manipulator with others, and am very firm in what I believe is the truth.

And some of them are conservatives. But socialism is about who owns the productive capital of the country. The power of that capital is the same whether it is owned by the government or by corporations.

Thanks. I really can't tell sometimes when people are being hyperbolic or not when online. To think that someone would kill another for being asked to wear a mask seems incredible to me, yet it has happened, and I worry if it's because they are conflating limiting freedom and liberty with inconvenience.

It is tough to read people online. Many interpretations can be taken from what someone says.
When did someone kill because they didn't want to wear a mask? I never heard of that.
