The pattern in scripture is redemption then the law. The law is for God's people. So I agree that the law is important. However, keeping the law is not what keeps us saved since we cannot keep the law perfectly. Fortunately, Christ led a life of perfect obedience, and that righteousness is imputed to us.Genesis 26:4-5
God's holy laws. The same one's Adam and Eve, Noah, Cain and Abel were supposed to keep. God's law IS the tree of life. Us deciding to disobey and judge things for ourselves IS the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
To sin, is to disobey God's law. Think about it, without the law, how could we not sin? What is sin? Without the law, how could we be obedient to God? What are we being obedient to? By doing away with the law, just as occurs today, it leaves thousands of interpretations for what's right up in the air. When, there's no need for it. God told us how to live, He told us how we're to be. People - the flesh - just don't like to accept it.
