We are declared righteous by faith. We are conformed to His image. We don't gain the ability to become righteous.

I disagree through the Holy Ghost you gain the power from on high that enables you to be Holy and be Christ like.

Absolutely. We are dead to the law. Because all that are under the law, are under the curse of the law, being that, if one law is broken, the punishment is death. But desiring to obey the law, even though we will fail horrendously, is not to be under the law, because we're not doing it for salvation. We're doing it because we are saved, and because it pleases the Father.

Jesus tells us to "go and sin no more" but, in the message you quoted me from, sin in our Father's eyes, is the transgression of the law.

    1 John 3:4 -
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Christ came to bring us out from the curse of the law, not the law itself. The law isn't a curse, breaking it is. Like I said, we don't keep the law for our salvation, we keep it BECAUSE of our salvation. As a matter of fact, in the end, come judgement day this is what our savior will say.

    Mattheww 7:23 -
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Those that work, or practice iniquity, he will reject. He will turn away those that work and practice iniquity. What does that word mean in the original text? In the original greek text, this is what was written, and has been lost in translation. Here is the greek word, and the definition of that word that has been translated as "iniquity"

    "Anomia:

    1. 1) the condition of without law
      1a) because ignorant of it
      1b) because of violating it
      2) contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness"
Iniquity, is translated from the greek word "anomia" and anomia, quite literally means to be without the law. So, Jesus will say, depart from me, ye who work lawlessness, or you without law.

If we are called to "go and sin no more" and are called to "be obedient" to our Father... without a law, how do we do that? We'd all be leaning on our own understanding of what WE think He wants us to do... there's no standard... He never did away with his laws, or his standards, as our Savior tells us. Matthew 5:17-18

Absolutely we are dead to the law. Because all who live to the law, are dead in the law. Our Savior freed us from living to the law, we live in the spirit, with his laws written on our hearts. We are his people, and we desire to live, not by the flesh, but by the spirit.

    Romans 7:14 -
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

We are to walk after the spirit, and not the flesh. The spirit is righteousness, the spirit is holiness, the spirit is love. The law, is all of these things. But, our flesh desires to disobey it, because our flesh desires sin. Sin is the breaking of the law, and our flesh will do anything and everything to live without the law. That is what our Savior freed us from. Our rebellious spirit. He gave us a spirit that desires to be obedient to the Father.

    1 John 3:7-10
7Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

As with what justified Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and those the many sins and wives of David and Solomon, it was faith. Not faith in their works of the law, but faith in the Father. This is the confusion today. People think if you obey the law, you're thinking you're justifying yourself because of it. No. Not at all. It's not the currency with which our salvation is purchased, it's the receipt of the purchase. The Savior is the one that bought us back from slavery. The Father. Not our own works. But, the law, is the work of Elohim, and as a child of Elohim, we should desire to be like Him in every way.

    Jeremiah 31:33 -
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

In our hearts, refers to our desires. As in, "Hey Jenn, I had to give you a call because the Father has put it on my heart, and I felt I should reach out to you".

Here's proof that although Abraham was justified by faith, he still obeyed the law. Genesis 26:5

Not FOR salvation, but because of it. We can either obey the judgement of the Father, and prove that we think His judgement is right by following and living by it, thereby proving what seed is in us, or we can rely on our own understanding and be our own gods as lucifer wanted us to see it. The tree of life Romans 7:10, or the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Read all of Romans 7. It's literally about Paul struggling and desiring to uphold the law, but the sin that still lives in his flesh makes it seem impossible, and he hates himself for it. He is constantly warring between his desire to uphold it, and his flesh causing him to fail at it. He desires with all his heart and with all his mind to keep the laws of the Father, but his flesh won't let him. It's a beautiful writing.

To be truly Christ like would mean to be perfect.

The Bible tells me that not one is good. I'm in that boat. Thank God that we do not get to heaven by being good. It would be a lonely place.

yes Paul says for I know that in me that is in my flesh is no good thing.... but it also says in 1 peter this because once you act on faith and repent, be baptized. Receive the Holy Ghost you are able to add these traits of "the Spirit". You're able to be good because you receive the good and perfect gift from above that comes down from the spirit of lights. 2nd peter 1.
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

    5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

    6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
We see viture (goodness/integrity) and we also see a be like Christ theme here. Additionally, the Bible says let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. That scripture isn't saying someone who's saved is the Christ... and it's not telling us to be the Christ... but to be like him and that's possible through The Spirit. We aren't good but Jesus is... but the thing is if you have the HOly Spirit on the inside you it's not just you anymore. You have power from on high (God) in you

I'm told to love God with All my heart.
    Honestly, I fall short.

Don't think Jesus had a problem with that.

Paul called himself a Wretched Man.
    Not proud but, I'm there.

I feel like mentioning "eternal existence in Hell" and posting a picture that says "Jesus loves you!" seems kind of mixing the messages a bit.

Also, apparently some instances of "sin" included having a blemish, or an eye defect, or picking up sticks on the Sabbath. How is that "rebellion"?

    .
We are declared righteous by faith.

So then we, are declared to be the Righteousness of God, by Faith in Christ.

If we are declared to be the Righteousness of God, just what is this Righteousness of Him, define it, describe it, show it to me........ Can you put it into words?

    2 Cor. 5:21
    For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
(THAT WE MIGHT BE MADE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM).

We are conformed to His image.

Being Predestinated and then Conformed to be the Image of Christ, doesn't that mean we become like Him?

    Rom. 8:29
    For whom he did foreknow,
(HE ALSO DID PREDESTINATE TO BE CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON)
that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

    1 Jn. 3:7
Little children, let no man deceive you:
(HE THAT DOETH RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS),
    (EVEN AS HE IS RIGHTEOUS)

We don't gain the ability to become righteous.

How do we become Conformed to the Image of Christ, if we do not have the ability to become Righteous outside of being the Righteousness of God in Christ.
How then are we Conformed, what are we then Conformed to?

    Eph. 2:10
    For we are his workmanship,
(CREATED IN CHRIST UNTO GOOD WORKS),
(WHICH GOD HATH BEFORE ORDAINED THAT WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM.

    10) (IN THIS THE CHILDREN OF GOD ARE MANIFEST),
(AND THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL):
(WHOSOEVER DOETH NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT OF GOD),
neither he that loveth not his brother.

This brings me back to my question, I began with.
"If we are declared to be the Righteousness of God, just what is this Righteousness of Him, define it, describe it, show it to me........ Can you put it into words?"

    Sin is...

The opposite of 1 John 3:23-24

And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.

Ah Jimmy thanks for that. Currently reading and studying Genesis with my 12 year old son. We discussed the broken relationship just this evening. Thanks for the rest and will incorporate it in tomorrow's lesson.

    Sin is all that ...
And sin is ..the very thing Jesus came to set us free from.. And I am so grateful he did and that I am free.
