I have worked extensively in politics throughout my adult life, first as a Republican and then as a Democrat. I know precisely how both parties and their activists work. Except that in the decade since I left Republican politics, the party has become even more extreme than it was in the 00s.

According to Sherman’s source, Trump is “raging at how bad this has been for Republicans so far” — and he’s telling people that Ford “seems credible” in her testimony.

I'm beginning to think there needs to be a refresher for some posters here on the difference between writing a sentence that's an opinion, and a sentence that's a statement of fact.

My 11 year old could give it, he learned the difference last year in 5th grade...

Then she should be able to remember how she got home from the supposed get together.

That is not the way the brain works. Traumatic stress is associated with increased cortisol and norepinephrine responses to subsequent stressors. There is no heighten memory associated with the non stressful event of that day.

As a PhD she agrees that this was not the way she should have been interviewed to get at the truth of her claim. She should have received a cognitive interviewed in private by a trained individual. This was a political platform designed to promote political agendas. Not to get at the truth of an women that was traumatized by an event that she does not fully understand.

When I was 15, I was on an airplane that got struck by lighting, turned off and started to dive downward. I remember EVERY DETAIL about those 90 seconds, and nothing about the rest of that day. Trauma sears itself into your memory and blots out all surrounding memories.
