You're whining about the Democrats delaying a SCOTUS pick. You didn't whine when the Republicans did it.

If it was bad now, it was bad then. But I suspect you didn't think it was bad then. So... see the problem?

Good point. Please remove the prejudicial word 'whining' when you write your otherwise good point!

No I see an effort of tit for tat. Enjoy the delays, evidently by your own admission politics is all about paybacks, and the Republican bank is mighty full after almost two years.

I realy wish they would just let the prosecutor examine them both, as a professional, as is her job to question and disseminate , before they do all their dog and pony show crap. A good prosecutor will make a innocent person shine, or nit pick the heck out of a liar. The senate is just there to score points.

It wasn't a script it was an opening statement. Are you going to state Kavanaugh's was committee scripted when he gives his as well?

Kavanaugh's opening statement was in all probability written by Kavanaugh. I will be able to tell when I hear him deliver it. Ford's was written by committee, carefully crafted with (cry here) inserts and every victimology buzzword in existence.

As for Mitchell, what a complete disappointment. I could conduct a better cross examination than she is doing.

The Iraq War?

What about it?

"In June 2004, the United States removed 2 tons of low-enriched uranium from Iraq, sufficient raw material for a single nuclear weapon.[93]

On June 21, 2006 the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence released key points from a classified report provided to them by the National Ground Intelligence Center on the recovery of chemical weapons in Iraq.[112] The declassified summary stated that "Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent", that chemical munitions "are assessed to still exist" and that they "could be sold on the black market".[113] All weapons were thought to be manufactured in the 1980s and date to Iraq's war with Iran.[112] The report prompted US Senator Rick Santorum to hold a press conference in which he declared "We have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq."[114]"

Ah, this is the 'rushing' I was meaning:

Under White House pressure, the Senate Republican leadership is moving to expedite the final stages of Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court after Thursday’s planned hearing featuring the woman who has accused him of sexual assault when they were teenagers.
GOP Sets Committee Vote on Kavanaugh for Friday

You can get this from any news source you like though, the intent to go-ahead and not be slowed down. Of course, I don't take that as written in stone, that nothing could make McConnell slow down. I presume McConnell presumed nothing would come up that is significant. I suppose if something new and significant came up, McConnell might slow down, and not push it through in a rush.

To me, the 2 new men that showed up yesterday are something significant. And needing investigation. My hope is that everything possible come to light as totally as possible.

I'd be delighted for K to be confirmed with many doubts removed....should that be possible.

Rushing seems to make that very unlikely. See?

Many doubts? There were none until the last hour before his confirmation. How do unsubstantiated allegations create doubt? Actual evidence could create doubt, but I have seen none.

Kind of hard when you get interrupted every 5 min. Mitchell hasn't even built her case yet, but she is getting close. I see where she is going.

I'm saying rushing will backfire because millions of average americans do not follow the news constantly, and will wonder why there wasn't more time between these new people showing up, including the 2 new men, for instance, and a conclusion. It seems too quick, regardless of how much investigating already happened, because of new people showing up.

Do not worry.

Do not worry that new people will show up for weeks and weeks, because remember the story of the Boy Who Cried Wolf?

That's for real, that after a certain number of false alarms, people get the message. (or if an alarm is for real, then they get that message in that case)

So, do not worry.

Slow down. Take more time. That's the smart thing to do. The Committee should slow down and find out about the new people that showed up lately.

What is it exactly "we" already "know"? Looks like another has come forward claiming responsibility. What do we "know"? I know people are rushing to judgement without a court or hearing. Is that good old country justice?
The answer you would like an investigation to uncover.

Can I get your source for this accusation please?

Have you not listened to her testimony? She sounds like a thirteen year old girl. In addition, given all the hype concerning her education, she didn't even know what the term exculpatory meant? A PHD in psychology and she doesn't know how a polygraph is conducted? She just remembers things all over her body? This is insane.

Be cautious getting caught up in the passions of the moment not to accidentally revile her (because we as Christians are explicitly told that is a major and deadly wrong thing to do. Or if you do, be sure later to confess and repent. All of us make mistake, most weeks even.) I say about all of this -- do not worry. The more that comes to light, over more time, the better. Ultimately trust in God, and don't worry too much about the shortcomings of people.

A good, decent man is being destroyed right in front of us all, and our friends across the aisle are snickering with glee. I find it infuriating the so called prosecutor the Republicans hired is treating this as a deposition as opposed to a hearing, acting so afraid to offend or even sound the least bit aggressive in her questioning the rebuttal case isn't being advanced in any fashion. Mitchell has gotten no where while the Democrats are crafting the image of an accomplished woman living a completely devastated life. Both can not be true.

No. I meant exactly what I said.
Ok, I'll take it as just a family like way of talking, as from love then (though I wasn't one of the 'whiners', and can't speak for them)

One invaluable thing to do is to pray the Lord's prayer, which Christ gave us in Matthew chapter 6, that we could pray it every day.

Actually, I don't like the Democrats delaying. I didn't like the Republicans delaying. I think that the Senate has a duty to confirm nominees and not play games. But if that's the case, Garland should be on the court right now. The Republicans started a dangerous game and, sadly, it's going to continue. If the Democrats take the Senate in the midterms, they will sit on every single nominee so long as they have power.
