Repentance?

Has the frontman for the Lakeland Fiasco yet (as of this posting) made a public apology for bringing down the “revival” and disappointing/disillusioning so many of his supporters? His board made a feeble attempt at it but what about him?

I don’t know. I haven’t heard.

I did go looking for it a couple of days ago. I didn't find an apology but did find that this is not the first woman he has been 'emotionally' involved with. Happened not to long ago - but I don't know where I read it.

I care about deception in the Body of Christ, Dids. You should too. It would be nice to just brush this under the rug but thats why it happens over and over and over again. Somewhere along the way we need to say, "Stop it, da**it," before God takes His hand off of us altogether.

Either that or start anew overseas, maybe start a new church, get a different scene going..opportunities are endless

Sure, you would like us to move on and pretend Lakeland never happened. I would too if I had been a supporter/defender of it. If we just brush it under the rug, then we can jump on the next circus train than comes down the rails and further destroy our credibility.

I’m not willing to be a party to that.

But if you don’t like these threads, then you don’t have to help us keep them alive.

I’m beginning to think Todd Bentley’s friends were all just fair-weather friends. They seem to have all forsook him and fled.

Suddenly, he is without supporters. All of those who were his biggest boosters a month ago are now saying things like, “I never really followed him” or “I suspected things all along” or “Let’s talk about something else.”

For the record, I have not stopped praying for him. But it would ease a lot of people’s mind if he would just as publicly ask for forgiveness (apologize) as readily has he postured on stage.

I'm curious as to what exactly he needs to apologize for? You say fraudulent behaviour, so he's been fraudulently saying his marriage was perfect? Or are you saying because of this area of his life was falling apart, he was fraudulent in all he did? See I don't know how the board found out, nor do I know how far the relationship went, but if we all follow these rules, let me appologize as well, I had a doozie with my wife a few weeks ago. Then three days ago, I have to appologize for this as well, I didn't help with the house cleaning. I also need to repent, I thought more about going for a bike ride than I did about what was happening with my children. And I'm sorry I didn't help clean the house again today, but I did hurt my foot.

But thinking about it, I don't recall reading Peter's open appology to the church when he cursed Jesus. As a matter of fact, I don't read very many appologies. Where did Paul appologize to Stephen's family?

And what exactly will an appology do? I am one who doesn't believe divorce to always be sin, so how am I to tell if this one was? The only thing I could see needing an appology is if he told people his marriage was perfect and it was a lie. I don't recall him talking about his marriage though, although truth be told, I didn't listen to him much.

Personally I'm glad God uses people who fail, it gives me hope.
