  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

BUT I WAS THERE!
Doesn't matter.

You can post firsthand accounts all day long, but most people here will just dismiss your eye-witness account, saying you "saw what you wanted to" and that you couldn't see through the "deception".

And then, to prove how wrong you are, they'll post an eye-witness account (ironic, eh?) that agrees with them... Go figure.

It's when you read witness after witness that talks about the wierd things happening, and the discomfort, that makes one very hesitant to hang too much weight on one positive eye witness.

There are a lot of cult followers who would happily defend their cult. The positive experiences are not the one's that matter, it's the negative ones that should at least be given some thought. You can't toss out all the negative trip reports just because there are a few positive ones. But in some cases you CAN toss out all the positive reports when there is only a few negative ones.

Read a movie review that gets tons of puff and hype, full of praise and kudos, then find in the review that there is a gay sex scene and the positive reviews can be quickly dismissed and the movie avoided. Some may choose to sit through the movie just to soak in the good from it, while turning their head in the inappropiate areas. Others dismiss the movie altogether, feeling that compromise in any form can never be good in the long run. Still others accept all that the movie offers, take it in with all their soul, and then try to convince others that maybe the bad wasn't really all that bad because of the good in it. Then eventually the exact same type of movie released gets less and less negative reviews later because of all the compromising that has been done in peoples hearts since the first movie.

We tend to see what we want to see, Pete, and believe what we want to beleive, sometimes despite the truth.

Hey Rhema, BUT I WAS THERE!

Well I was at a meeting similar to Lakeland and a crippled child was there and prayed for, and many said that he walked. Well I was there and I didn't see him walk. Magick, no doubt!

Be blessed in Jesus' Name.

So, Jim, you see what YOU want to see? And believe what YOU want to believe? Despite the truth.

If you say so, CA.

I am still waiting to hear an apology from TB for disappointing all of those who supported him (emotionally, financially, or otherwise) even at the risk of their own reputations and good names, for abusing the trust they had in him. Even immoral politicians have enough integrity (or astuteness) to do so when they are caught with their pants down. Apparently, TB does not feel the need to say he is sorry.

It’s just another disappointment. One has to wonder how people could have placed so much trust in him? And who will they trust next?

When do you think we are finally gonna wake up?

~Jim

They either will wake up and understand what we are saying or they will blame us for saying bad things about annointed leaders.

I know. Our "self-anointed” leaders have so cheapened the word “anointed” that it has become almost a term of derision.
