eh...I've been there playing the "cheerleader" til I'm just exhausted~ I had to drop one or two "friends" because of their negative outlook. I can tell them they're ok, til I'm blue in the face and they're STILL stuck in that negativity.

If a person goes on and on in a perpetual pity party and never heeds any advice I give them I try and gently ease away from them and end the friendship ... but if they are activily doing what they need to do to deal with their problems I'm there for them all the way, baby. ... even if it takes a long time.

If a person goes on and on in a perpetual pity party and never heeds any advice I give them I try and gently ease away from them and end the friendship ... but if they are activily doing what they need to do to deal with their problems I'm there for them all the way, baby. ... even if it takes a long time.

Tat, I had a friend just like this once. we were really close for a long time, but to seemed that she only called me when she needed something. She like to call herself giving me 'advise' concerning my ex (they were friends before I married him, but never 'involved') but, never liked it if I tried to give her advise concerning her own abusive relationship. There's lots more I could say, but it would take up an entire thread!!! Needless to say, I don't talk to her anymore.

I got a step daughter who is a "drama junkie", which is fine w/me but her brother gets all wrapped up in her "problems" then whines to me when she has already moved on to the next thing before he can solve her 1st thing for her--HE's the one who gets on my nerves, I tell him leave her alone and wait 15 minutes and there w/b a new crises to deal with, but no---we only been doing this 15-20 years now. I just say something out of the padded room vernacular and go on....

Life must be good ingeneral, that or everyone forgot this thread. Well it was ment for "Ranting & Raving, so here goes; Whats up with this world in which people with outstanding talents would rather use this ability to create havoc rather then put their God diven abilities to good use?

I am speaking particularly about those who create Computer viruses and worms and such. I wish I had half of their abilities, I am sure I could find some better use for it then they seem to find available.

I'm like your son, dyanm! I sometimes think my reaction (in my case, to my self-involved boss) has to do with losing focus of what my OWN goals are. So it's easier to get distracted by other people's weird behavior.
