I live in the hot, hot desert.
We cook all summer long; over 100 degrees for months!!!

But, I just see on the news we are going to have freezing temps for the next few days. We do not have clothing for this kind of weather for goodness sakes!!!
I have to layer these kids in about 2 of everything and then pray their dads do, too!!!!

Wear an extra pair of warm footsies, and keep your precious love in your heart, that will keep you warm...and your fire for him will stoke hotter !

I guess weather rants are the in thing right now. I just checked our weather and it doesn't look like things are going to get any better. Well a little above freezing mid day next week, but other than that below freezing every night.

Not really ranting, just venting.
*sigh*

Wish I was getting married, blending families.
I do not really want to wait another year or more...
I love my kids, and I like my alone time, but I so desire to have a partner to kiss goodnight and wake up to with a cup of coffee.
All the trials and things that come with it, I would welcome as long as there was understanding and faith and love for God and each other.
I just struggle with this and since I did not have this before, I desire it even more now.

I know, I know, there are blessings in being single, yes, I do know!!!
Just for some reason, today it is a struggle for me.

And I wish sometimes I married a man who didn't have baggage. Ex-wife, step children who remind you "you're not my mommy". I love my husband more than life and wouldn't trade him for anything. But there are days when I could do with out the drama.

I guess the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence.

I hate it when people lie to you and rationalize that they're lying to make you feel better. I wish people would have the courage to let a "NO" be "NO."

Two examples:

- I asked a ministry leader if something could be changed for our ministry event Sunday. He explained why it could not, a reason that I accepted. Then he said, "So let's just leave it that way for now." FOR NOW? He just told me it was not going to change, so why insult my intelligence by implying that there's a possibility it MIGHT change?

- Someone I know wanted to quit a committee he was on, so he told people how very regretful he was for having to step down and promised it would only be a "temporary" leave. Then he promptly left the church altogether (as he planned), never to return.

I really despise when people try to make themselves look better, when it's clear what they're really doing.

I see your pont but to use a take off of a Jack Nicholson Line from a "Few Good Men"

Most People Can't Handle the Truth.

Example: No, I don't support (Charity).

Example: I hate bring a dish dinners--people I know
don't keep a clean house and I don't want to
eat their experiments.

Example: I've found a Church I like better, so I won't be attending here anymore.

Example: It costs to much, I can't afford it.

Example: You don't deserve an explanation.

Example: No.

People always ask why when you say no, they never seem to care why you say yes.

I'm tired of hearing about the Jobs Americans "will not do"--we did them all at one time...

Where I live there is a group called "Labor Finders" People line up there daily for "temporary" work. The Local University uses them to set up chairs for functions, construction companies use them for "helpers" and they are doing a good business (4 branches). People are turned away and return the next day for the chance to work. They also use pagers, cells and go as report to the job site as soon as the agency calls.

Americans (documented) do want to work, as do people with disabilities (used to work in vocational rehab).

There are some system workers and some misguided who think they are "better" than some types of employment. This does not give us an excuse to down the documented population in the US who will take any job for now.

Illegal immigration only benefits greedy businesses who take advantage of BOTH the immigrants and the system to make a buck. It effectively gives businesses slave labor and a blackmarket flourishes on more than one level because of it.

Sorry but change the laws or be deported whenever found--no amnesty. There are legal ways to come in and while I would be for relaxing those methods I do not want to see amnesty. I propose work camps something similar to the WPA. in INS run "detention camps" where you work 6 hours a day, 6 days per week(community service types work) and go to school 2hrs (learning to read and write English, count American Currency etc.)for 2 years minimum and upon completion of exams they will be naturalized. All govt printing, uniforms, food, alot of maintenance and certainly disaster relief costs would be reduced and it would not be a "harsh" punishment but not a free pass. JMHO.
