Public Apology from Erwin

Whatever Erwin decides to do is going to have to be discussed with staff first to find an equitable solution that is fair and consistent for all. I am reasonably sure that the recent happenings will be taken into consideration and I back Erwin on this endeavour. I had the pleasure of being on staff for 2 years and He is an extemely fair man. If he sees an injustice, He bends over backwards to try to fix it.

I am still quite distressed by the recent comments about staff and their actions. I still feel that this was gone about in entirely the wrong manner. If something is wrong, I go to the source. If that fails, I go to the next level. I truly think this could have been handled with a bit more finesse and diplomacy. The way that things were addressed IMHO could have been done a bit more privately. The jabs, and insults, and derision of staff was inexcusable.

I am not judging anyone, This is not meant in that manner.

Erwin has spent TONS of his own money to keep this place going and has put in more hours here than any human should have to do. This is his baby and I appreciate so much all he has done to keep CF open for all of us.

Erwin, Whatever the time frame is for the revamping of CF, I eagerly await the changes. God speed and Get some sleep.

I was away, but had to return when I caught wind of what is happening here. An official apology thread from the top down is the best addition to CF I've seen since joining up from another Christian forum gone bad about 10 months ago now. As one who continues to pray for this site, I wish to express my deep gratitude for what is taking place here. In an age of communication marvels, Christians ought to always lead the way in communication ideals and commitments to excellence in our relationships.

I like wha this moderator is doing..I think it would be a great way to start over..Why not have a amnesty day and let people start a new. Erwin, I am new here and it looks like i joined during a very "fluid" period of Cf but I thank you for all that you have done and continue to do as well as sharing your love.

Really? my understanding was that dr Loh is the webmaster of this site, the owner and creator. He doesn't need approval from anyone to change whatever he wishes! if he does aks staff for opinion it will be because he is a curteous and fair man, not because he HAS TO!

Thank you so much, Erwin, for your Christ-like love, humility, and courage, in which your apology was made to those who have been hurt by the unloving actions of staff members--it is beautiful to see!!! I do not recall having ever experienced a heavy-handed moderator here, but I know of people who have--and it is wonderful to see that their voice has heard by you, and that you are going to be taking steps to make Christian Forums a more loving place!

The whole purpose of the forum, just like any other meeting place for members Christ's Body, is love, encouragement, serving and building up one another, and it is SO important that it stay according to its God-given purpose, on the sides of both the moderators and the regular members.

We all must be on here only to serve and build up one another the way Jesus did while on earth--even if we are not mods! It is the only right way to treat our brothers and sisters, whom God loves as much as us, and who each have their own struggles and hardships in life and need our help and encouragement to brighten their day even when we don't feel brightened!!! And even if something is the truth it is wrong to speak it in a hurtful way--we must never compromise truth, but we must just as much never compromise love.

I have been convicted of times before when I have not responded in love to my brothers and sisters here, and that is always a sin against God for which there is never a valid excuse. If any one of you reads this who has felt hurt by me in the past and has not received an apology, please PM me because you are entitled to one (please do not hesitate). If you felt hurt by me it is my fault not yours.

Thank you again, Erwin, and my prayers are with you as you continue to build up the Body of Christ as you are doing!

It has come to my attention that some moderators have been particularly heavy-handed in their moderation and acting outside of our moderating guidelines.

For example, some posts or threads have been deleted when they do not break our rules. Deleting of posts and threads are the LAST resort.

We have over 100 staff so you can understand that keeping track is difficult.

Obviously we have fallen short of providing proper training.

For the members who have been affected, accept my direct and personal apology.

We are dealing with staff training at the moment.

Also, I agree that we have TOO MANY forum rules.

As part of the reforms I am proposing we will be consolidating this.

As discussed, the reforms will be introduced ideally by early next month.
