Public Apology from Erwin

[Mea Culpa]

Hi

It has come to my attention that some moderators have been particularly heavy-handed in their moderation and acting outside of our moderating guidelines.

For example, some posts or threads have been deleted when they do not break our rules. Deleting of posts and threads are the LAST resort.

We have over 100 staff so you can understand that keeping track is difficult.

Obviously we have fallen short of providing proper training.

For the members who have been affected, accept my direct and personal apology.

We are dealing with staff training at the moment.

Also, I agree that we have TOO MANY forum rules.

As part of the reforms I am proposing we will be consolidating this.

As discussed, the reforms will be introduced ideally by early next month.

First, that is a great thing to do. I understand, though not on the level that you do, that you have a LOT of work on this board, and a LOT of responsibilty.

This place is HUGE! I am a mod at enigmamusic.com. And that place is a lot easier to maintain. Still, it presents challenges and some of them I can relate to you with.

I am surprised that you keep as much a reign on this place as you do. It is absolutly HUGE. On top of that, you are dealing with real spiritual issues, and real spirits. You have both those for Christ and against. Where Christ works, so does the enemy. So you also have a hard time there.

Dr, you are doing a great job. Don't ever feel discouraged. God is in control, even of this place here. I know that it has helped me to learn and to grow, and I am sure that it has done the same with everyone else.

I want to say thank you for your site, and thank you for your hard work. Too often we complain and whine like children, instead of loving like Christ. I am just as guilty of that as the next guy.

In the end I just become stoical , but it's good to see you care.

Thank you Erwin for addressing this issue because it's driving alot of people away from what was a great site.

I know this is the announcement thread, but I have something to say......As you may or may not know this issue had alot to do with why I've left CF and it was the breaking point of where I had to turn around and look at what I believed and I realized that I couldn't accept christianity because christianity doesn't accept me (both the church in general and some here at cf). It made me realize how overly strict Christianity is in general and if I am created in God's "Perfect Image" then why should his image change to conform to what man has twisted into what God wants. I just have to say I've never been happier since I no longer am a christian. I'm in the process of writing a letter to my friends here at CF to say goodbye and let them know how my life has changed.

I have the upmost respect for you Erwin and I know that you will do the right thing.

I have never been affected by these problems, but better training for staff is always a Good thing. I look forward to Joining as a Mod myself
