  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please pray for my mother in law. She has had severe lower back and leg pain now for quite awhile. She has had xrays and will see DR on WED. The pain meds he has prescribed do not help her. It is quite wearing on her. She can walk etc. it is just extrememly uncomfortable and being active and walking twice a day with friends is very important to her especially now that her vision is so compromised. She can't read or do crosswords etc. anymore. Thanks.

Hi Jan good morning to you

This, sounds very similar to symptoms I had years ago

The claudication [induced limping] was caused by furred-up/ partially blocked
abdominal arteries [below my heart -ILEAC]
These, showed up, under arteriograms, after !
a year on Diclofenac Sodium 100mg per dose [VOLTAROL]
and was possibly the reason-for, abdominal haemohrages, I then suffered too

Must go to look after a neighbour while his wife does some shopping

back later

Praying for your mother-in-law, Jan.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me, and also for your encouraging messages and sharing from your own experiences. It helps to know that people care and understand. (I followed that link Ariel, and read through some of the very touching posts. It seems I'm on the right lines because I am fairly organised and exercise daily, but people's comments can throw me completely off course!) Praise God and thanks to your prayers I have explained my problem to my doctor today. He was very understanding and is looking to see what else is available. It is such a relief to be free of what I thought was the wrong treatment. Many thanks again and praise God.:hug:

Hi Sue

I would like to tell you [am unable to post links to past messages]
that I too have been THROUGH the depression mill

was prescribed SEROXAT for seven months
and I was able to leave them off.... just like that!!!
when an 'angel' gave me back some 'self-respect'

For sure... go and pour your heart out to the doc'
It is, what he/ she is there for
Whilst you are under 'such-duress' you are not-suited
to looking after yourself in the best possible way

:pray:ing for you

I didnt see this message before I replied to an earlier one

Well done Sis' that is the best move to make in the circumstances

I tried to obtain links to some past posts of mine
to 'show you the way' but this site isn't yet up to that happening

One bit of advice I can still give...is

When something/ ANYTHING is beyond your ability
give it up to Jesus to cope with and you then FORGET IT
and get on with other-stuff

Things WILL get-better I KNOW they will
becos' it HAPPENED TO ME

Well Jan... WHEN, as I said;
YOU, can do nothing to change something
It IS, wasted energy and emotion, that you could SPEND elsewhere
[more productively]

Peace, comes from praying, when knowing all things
and all of our needs ?
He is faithful and forgiving and loving and generous to His flock
whom He will bless abundantly

It should be the first and every-other, thing, that you think of Sis'

7x7 times per day... or even 70
It is NOT... like, He will think you are nagging ?

Stay in-touch............ the best times, are, yet, to-arrive

Oh...another person who understands! Thanks Dave; it is encouraging to know that things will get better. :)

I'm feeling much better today, and have just come back from meeting with a friend whom I haven't seen for months, because she has had her own issues to deal with. She is one of the few of my immediate circle who DOES understand, and we had a good prayer time together. It is ages since we met for prayer. I found out though that a mutual friend's cancer has returned and is inoperable.

Continuing to pray for Jan's MIL and Rob and Ley.

Yes, His will and NOT OUR'S will be done

Let us all, fall in with his direction, follow His lead
and tread as nearly as we can, in His footsteps

Show us Lord, that we might understand your will for us
support us and encourage us and take us home to you
when our time here is through
'For thine, is the kingdom, the power and the glory'
'as it was in the beginning, it is now and always shall be'
'thy world without end'
amen

Sue praying for your friend who had become ill again.
Last night while out with hubby and son to hear a band we like I spoke with a lady I know and her hubby who I often see there. I guess their 4 yr old granddaughter has had huge health issues in the last few weeks. There was/is a mass in her brain. She has had numerous tests Ultrasound CT scans likely MRI etc. and was given steroids for the inflammation got better then had to go back to hospital with a 104 fevers etc. I guess at the start she could not walk or talk but now is ok that way. I told her I would pray and she said they had been doing that none stop and now she is better and can walk and all seems normal. I am not sure though what action if any will have to be taken further. God knows though and we can ask Him what needs to be done. Thanks Jan

I will pray for you Sue. I also have bouts with depression and it's awful and unless a person has experienced it they can not truly understand. It's a very serious thing.
I keep Ley and Rob in my prayers also.
Jan, your MIL's condition sounds exactly like mine. I ruptured a disc in my lower back and my hip and left leg was in intense pain and also numbness. I discovered that my scaotic (spelling?) nerve had been effected and that was causing the intense leg pain. That was 3 months ago and the numbness has gone away (praise God) and the pain in my leg is not as bad but I still take pain pills. My back hurts more now then before----I think the leg pain was so bad I couldn't even feel the back pain. It's very hard to not be able to do the things I use to. I tryed walking 5 miles yesterday which use to be nothing to me and I was in so much pain i did not think I was going to make it home. I'm not posting this for sympathy because I know God will heal me in time but it will be his time I think though that your MIL might want to ask her doctor to do a CT scan that is how they found what my problem was.
Prayers to everyone who cares enough to post on this thread. You are dear and caring servants of God.

Praying also for you, Dee. I have had neck and back issues too, not a herniation though. But I have had sciatica due to an irritated nerve. The best help I found was surprisingly, from chiropractic.

Dee and KayKay praying that your back and neck will feel better. Have had major issues with my neck and got a recommendation from the orthopedist today for a pillow that is supposed to be the best for improving neck pain. Wil look for it over the weekend and am hopeful that it will make a big difference.

If you find it and like it, please let me know what it is. Usually, I have to use a fairly high and firm pillow to support my neck well enough. Prayers for you too, buttercup.:prayer:

The trouble-with MOST pillows [?]

Is, that they are so-bulky, that they contort the *cervical-spine, 'unnaturally' during sleep
Blood vessels and nerves, pass through the neck
and these, can be stretched and compressed during sleep
due, to the various unnatural compressions and extensions
as you move around in your sleep

all that is usually needed for, a good rest, is a good alignment of the head
with the remainder of the body

A good idea.... that has been around for thousands of years
is the chinese pillow
Alright, some, can.... 'look a bit spartan' but think-on
Look, at its shape,
Imagine, that the narrowing FITS inside the hollow depression
between head and shoulders and has 'give'

here, is an image of one

http://www.onlineoriental.com/Merch...e_Code=1&Product_Code=gz182&Category_Code=bam

Of course, not-everyone CAN.... sleep, on their back
and some,
need to keep their head 'raised' above their feet
but, short, of strapping on a cervical collar
something, very similar to, the illustration
will generally be found to be MOST RELAXING [therapeutic]
given TIME to acclimatize

* the portion of the spine that passes through the neck to the head
