The scripture says:
"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice." Phil 4:4
Remember Jesus' words:
"But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." Matt 19:26
Remember also:
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matt 7:7
If we ask anything in prayer and it doesn't seem to pan out then consider also these words:
"Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." James 4:3
Even when we ask for healing for ourselves and for others we may be amiss in our request. When we ask anything we must always consider God's will in the thing. Jesus certainly always considered His Father's will:
"And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head." Matt 8:20
And David said
"Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,
Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob." Ps 132:3-5
"For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it." Psalm 132:13-14
And where then is Zion?
"In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." Eph 2:22
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?' I Cor 3:16
"And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him.
And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us." I John 3:24
Gathering together "in His Name" also brings Him into our heart :
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Matt 18:20
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:21
Now these things having being said let us once more pray for one another and give God all the glory!

I will pray for you Sue. I also have bouts with depression and it's awful and unless a person has experienced it they can not truly understand. It's a very serious thing.
I keep Ley and Rob in my prayers also.
Jan, your MIL's condition sounds exactly like mine. I ruptured a disc in my lower back and my hip and left leg was in intense pain and also numbness. I discovered that my scaotic (spelling?) nerve had been effected and that was causing the intense leg pain. That was 3 months ago and the numbness has gone away (praise God) and the pain in my leg is not as bad but I still take pain pills. My back hurts more now then before----I think the leg pain was so bad I couldn't even feel the back pain. It's very hard to not be able to do the things I use to. I tryed walking 5 miles yesterday which use to be nothing to me and I was in so much pain i did not think I was going to make it home. I'm not posting this for sympathy because I know God will heal me in time but it will be his time I think though that your MIL might want to ask her doctor to do a CT scan that is how they found what my problem was.
Prayers to everyone who cares enough to post on this thread. You are dear and caring servants of God.

Hiyah kaykay Sis'
yep it isn't EASY, for me to pack in smoking at-all
and, it is not so-much, that I am a 'Wuss' but, much more
the disturbed psychological state that I get in 'without'
eg:
forgetfulness, sleeplessness, altered states of consciousness
and, dare I say it 'depression' also
all of this, and loss of, appetite through to ravenous binges
has me considering, the trauma is the worst 'direction' to take
I can.... cut back... but, if and when I have little or none in the house
it, is so similar to my being 'down-town' and WITHOUT MY CRUTCH
Some people 'brag' that they could throw their pack away and
NEVER want another smoke
?????????????????????????????????????????????
This isn't so in my case, I am physically hooked

Praying....Asking prayers for healing for Frances, my friend's 95 year old mother, who fell yesterday and broke her ankle and wrist. She is in the hospital and they are still doing some tests to see if there are any other injuries.

I had my consultation/ examination done this afternoon
by a Professor at The Salford Royal Hospital
He is arranging for me to undergo arteriograms of my legs
and also, an MRI scan of my Carotid Arteries
which, he considered to be rather 'noisy'
http://www.europeanscanning.com/doppler.html
My BP was; 170 over 100 ie. a little lower than a recent 204 over 90
He asked re; my various medications and-also re: my smoking
which had me recall a conversation in the hairdressers this-morning
all-about, how when people that have been smoking all of their lives
quit or, even attempt-to [?]
suddenly go 'downhill' and do not, as a rule tend-to last very much longer
I did not enjoin with the discussion, but merely 'wagged' my ears over it
I recall, how, after a childhood fraught, with bronchitis
several, even many 'bouts' each year,
that, from aged eleven years [when, I took-up smoking]
it strangely, never returned to me
Maybe, there is a message in there for me [somewhere]
because...
even these pills I am taking, to help me quit-smoking [CHAMPIX] [?]
do nothing at-all, to alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal
Indeed, my experience with them thus far; is one of terrible flatulence
combined with, diarrhoea which, after two weeks [almost]
is beginning to make me a little sore, back 'there'
I had gotten used-to, the more regular visits to the loo [due-to]
my cholesterol and water tablets making me, thirsty
but, these latest 'troublesome-events'
caused by the Champix [Varenicline] are little short-of, WICKED!!
So the upshot/ outcome
of, 'today's' hospital visit is, that I am expecting an appointment
from The Manchester Royal Infirmnary for leg scans
and a separate appointment
from their MRI Team, for, the scans of my neck and thorax
I should, get these, over the course of, the next few weeks

This past week my heart did its slow down thing three days in succession. I've had a pacemaker in place for over four years which stilll kicks in and stops it from going below 60. Supposedly normal is between 60 and 100 but when it drops to 60 it sets there for several minutes leaving me weak as a kitten and drenched with cold sweat. I was seen by a local physician's assistant. Wecalled my cardiologist in Oklahoma City but won't hear from him before Monday unless the condition is really life threatening. Apparently it is not.
I simply try to trust in God on this. I want whatever His will is, nothing more, but nothing less, no matter what that means. I will not follow Hezekiah's example. My wife, of course, refuses to leave it at that and I must bend to her concern and let the doctor have his say. Pray with me that God will have His way in this and will calm my wife.
Also pray for my wife at this time as she continues in great discomfort and pain from diverticulitus. She's taken the anti-biotic, but the thing has not let up yet.
You didn't ask for my .02 but when did that ever stop me?! I tend to be with your wife. I don't think consulting your doctor is equivalent to asking for time beyond what God might see as best. I think it is scriptural to do what we can to take care of ourselves. (I think there is a proverb that says that, but I'd have to find it.) Again, just my .02.
