  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This past week my heart did its slow down thing three days in succession. I've had a pacemaker in place for over four years which stilll kicks in and stops it from going below 60. Supposedly normal is between 60 and 100 but when it drops to 60 it sets there for several minutes leaving me weak as a kitten and drenched with cold sweat. I was seen by a local physician's assistant. Wecalled my cardiologist in Oklahoma City but won't hear from him before Monday unless the condition is really life threatening. Apparently it is not.

I simply try to trust in God on this. I want whatever His will is, nothing more, but nothing less, no matter what that means. I will not follow Hezekiah's example. My wife, of course, refuses to leave it at that and I must bend to her concern and let the doctor have his say. Pray with me that God will have His way in this and will calm my wife.

Also pray for my wife at this time as she continues in great discomfort and pain from diverticulitus. She's taken the anti-biotic, but the thing has not let up yet.

Hi Bro' Amadeus

For our 'family/ partners' in this world, it isn't easy for 'them'
when, from their-viewpoint, the ONE, they love
then, doesn't appear to be TAKING 'every-opportunity'
to ensure their good health and wellness

None of us, WISH-FOR the other to GIVE-UP 'trying' ?
~ to seek every means possible... ? to preserve health and long-life
and while there 'may' be a somewhat 'selfish' reason, attached-to
'their need' to support their heartfelt feelings for the other
we do have a duty to 'each-other' [?]

About seven years ago now, I had a bad bout, of septicaemia
it was systemic and eruptions would break-out
just about anywhere [being in the blood]
thankfully, these areas, scarred over [despite their size]
after several treatments of powerful antibiotics
Even so, this infection, of the blood, lasted more than 12 weeks
before open wounds on my right hip and left calf were healed

I am presently being treated for a yeast infection of my navel
with an cream containing 'Nystatin' ~100,000 units per mg
Am supposed to keep it dry, where, it appears to be self-wetting
and apply cream x4 daily
It has now been with me 3 almost-4 weeks
so, I guess I must be a slow-healer [these-years]

Normal ? I thought, that a RATE of 60-65-70 [AT REST] was /is normal
with 100-plus during exercise, then, being... ALSO NORMAL
depending on the activity [?]
AND that ABNORMAL rates would -be like
100 at rest or, 60 under exercise
which, would doubtless make us very uncomfortable

It was low Blood Pressure, which gave 'me'
the symptoms you describe.... > due to arterial 'furring up'

AND... whilst I am not 'qualified' academically
to state that this is so~ I have read
# where, once we have absorbed the WRONG FATS
and our bodies adjust [accordingly] to deal with them
their effects, while remaining controllable, cannot be cured
[for the Genetic Changes, they, have 'encouraged' ]

# whilst, 'man' has been 'smoking' for hundreds of years
CANCER of all kinds is being attributed to it
[incl' passive smokers...]
ie NON SMOKERS ~those who inhale smoke of others

BUT, that despite the 'big-stick' it is getting in recent-times
smoking, is, but only ONE such 'possible-cause'

THAT, there are, so many carcinogenics in our environment these days
put-there, by commerce, whom are aware, [incidentally]
that these money-making PRODUCTS, are, just so- 'harmful'

In the 'case' of, ready-made cigarettes [for example]
the tobacco companies ADD chemicals to the tobacco
to make them BURN 'regularly' [without puffing on them]
The hand-rolling tobacco that I have smoked for many many years
hasnt, had this 'treatment'
Just, breathing the FRESH AIR in the streets can harm us

Pharmaceutical Companies
are looking at plants in virgin forests FOR 'CURES' .....WHY ?
Because, OIL, which took millions of years to form
and, was formed from plants...
the 'building blocks' of, evolving chemicals
can be [they hope] found growing 'there' [the ANTIDOTES]

Many plastics, are made from 'crude oil' [NOT just_ fuel]
These, can litter the environment for hundreds of years
before they 'break-down'
and NATURAL GAS,
which, formed_ above crude oil, when 'burned'
produces huge quantities of carbon monoxides AND hydrocarbons
all of them, injurious, to the health of, living tissue [life]

???? for the 'bucks'

Let us

Last Thursday, as I was backing... outa the Driveway, (to Skating-practice...) I FAINTED
what awoke me, was a neighbor's yelling STOP THAT VAN!!! ^_^

(that was my worst-ever case of accidental "mold Food-poisoning"); and
twice more that day, as I vomited, I fainted again. ^_^

Needless to say, that was another 2 ice-Practices, I had to miss :sorry:

BUT I didn't ask for prayers... here. I just  asked "Heavenly Father, PLEASE help  me get well"

Yep Annie.... Sometimes I wonder, just why the bible says that Jesus said

" whenever two or more gather in my name, I will be in their midst "

?

and why ? THEN,
is this so 'efficacious/ inviting'

So, you didn't want for us to pray for you ?

Hi Dave :)

Well, I know how VITAL it is, that we THINK *the BEST thoughts*;
meaning
Heavenly Father takes Great pleasure... in our Highest *soul*-good, plus our *mind* Well-being  as well.

(People will pray... according to their belief-maps :crossrc:); and many CF-maps I've read, post things like:
"because you believe XYZ..., when I know that ABC is
the right-religion, you will rot in hell, which is what you deserve"
and
"Don't break a leg, skating...
" also potentially harmful; because
the MIND of us (which actually executes the bazillion body-functions necessary to skate successfully...) -
usually DELETES "don't"-words, so the Negative-suggestion (IF the person allows that in), actually
can easily cause... a Skater to BREAK  legs, arms, whatever.

EDIT: Not to mention the fact, that in the instant/moment someone says: Don't break a leg, skating...",
that obviously brings it to the person's attention, however briefly.
Even when an Intelligent-skater ;) proceeds to RE-direct their Attentions, & continues FOCUSing on their business, which in this case, is *learning  my ice-Skills...*

And since I can't possibly know: what each, & ALL do THINK... who reads here,
I need to be really *careful* - what I take "on board".

No doubt, there were at least 6 Family/Friends I know of, sending-UP  Prayers... -
which I'm sure is part of the reason that, I recovered  in less than 5-days.
Well-enough, in fact that last night, I went to my first-ever BALLET-class;
where the Ballerina-teacher remarked how *well* I am doing... :)

I told her: "I LOVE... PRAISING  GOD, in any way I can"

THANKS! Dave, for your Caring... :)

Annie

Speaking of our "Prayer-life" I have for the most part not separated it from other facets.
Is this what others do also? -
For example, when a child is wracked with physical hunger, they can't Focus on their soul being saved.
Does one donate to a $religeous-group$; or find a child to help directly & personally? -
in my Prayer-life, I'm always concerned with the latter opportunities.
and
(while I know that there's a "sickness unto death"), GOD, as Jesus Christ, imprinted in us abundant 'self-healing' resources; (with maybe occasional medical first-aid). -

What are your Beliefs, Thoughts, & Practices, re these two facets? of Prayer-life...

My daughter, Samantha, and grand daughter, Ella, have just this morning left on their month long journey across the southwestern United States to study geology. I have never been more excited for some one else in my entire life. But the excitement does not go without some fear and nervous anticipation. So I humbly ask for an occasional prayer that they are safe in their travels.
Bless you all,
Claire

Hi Claire

Good to see you here again [posting]

How exciting for your daughter and granddaughter ?

Yes! I too would love to make such a trip
but am-content, to look at, that which others have seen
and can 'see' for myself, these things and places
via my computer

May your kinfolk journey safely and enjoyably
may they travel without inhibition and difficulty
may they wander to their hearts content
and may they return safely
full of the thrills of their adventures
and to regale you
with many happy stories of, their time away

St. Christopher, is the Patron Saint of, Travellers Sis'
The Lord, is our Shepherd
and will watch over His wandering flock

Your use, of the word 'fear'
transmits an air of trepidation
which is, a 'perfectly normal' reaction
to news of, kinfolk
and, where as you say 'anticipation' of a safe-return [home]
THIS, must await the completion of their journeying

I
that you offer them into our Lord's safe-keeping
that all 'news' from them
will extol the many pleasures that they are experiencing
and that you will soon, share
in their satisfaction, in good measure/ aplenty, also

Faith..... is the armour of God
Trust..... is the confidence He affords

Having given up all anxiety re: my 'cross'
iow: ______ my ability/ inability to-carry it

I await, the guidance of the Spirit, with-regard to; my direction
conceiving of, a more powerful agent, than I, myself, is at-work for-ME

My mission.. is, to truthfully extol my belief
that, I have been saved
from human desires that worked against-me, as a christian

I perceive, that I have 'learned'
to be grateful for the very many blessings
that I could not have achieved for myself
when, wrapped in the misery of human failings

For, without Him, we can do nothing, and, truly enjoy nothing
With Him, [?] even our smallest efforts are rewarded with a bountiful harvest
Our Daily Bread, is refreshed 'daily' and, His 'light' drives out the shadows

My friend Chris [?] has been given the 'all-clear' by his oncology unit
you may or may not know [recall]
that Chris, had a seminoma op
and had a ball removed [?]

Many thanks to 'my family' here, for their prayers for his complete recovery
Our God is simply 'merciful'
His wife, can now rely, on his continued care of her

I 'try' dear Annie,
to support anyone whom, for whatever reason
should cry out [their LACK, of, ability to cope]

Often, just a few words, can move a mountain from someone's view
and blow-away the 'clouds' that bring them darkness
This, I am convinced, is, the Holy Spirit at-work, through me

When I am mistaken..... [?] I still, do no bad thing in so-trying

Peace, dear Sis' be with you

your Bro'
