CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The United States gets more tornadoes than any nation on earth. We have a red flag warning for possibility of fires from Texas through all of Oklahoma all the way up north in an area towards the upper midwest in a NE direction, then thunderstorms with damaging winds and hail. I'm praying for everyone in that area, including you, Tom and all of Oklahoma.

Thanks for the prayers, and I will be praying for many others. I've lived in Oklahoma all my life, so I've been pretty close to numerous tornadoes. I'm more afraid of hurricanes and earthquakes.

My relatives survived Hurricane Andrew (had damage to property, particularly my brother.) I think fire scares me more than anything.

I have another prayer request, My dad who is 81, was discovered to have a blood clot in his leg. It could get months to dissolve the blood clot. My family also needs to decide on living arrangements for him. He can't live by himself anymore. Pray that they make wise decisions on this.

Please could you say a quick prayer for me. I had a bad bout of depression yesterday. I've suffered with it since my mother died, over 40 years ago. It disturbs my mental balance and affects my view of Christianity. I Recently I've been much better, but something I heard yesterday has brought it back. Many thanks.
