• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Ok so What do I do I've had like this vague worry unbelief thing and then I think if I don't worry about it I don't care about my relationship with God what am I supposed to do to keep my relationship with him now? I feel distant and like an unbeliever right now?

Just keep loving Him.

YOU, don't do anything to keep your relationship with Him. That's His job. You give yourself too much credit, you don't have the power to keep your relationship with God. He has promised to keep your salvation safe and secure for you in Heaven.
And if you don't worry about your relationship with Him it doesn't mean you don't care. It's just the opposite, if you don't worry about it, it just means that you trust him to take care of it.

I know exactly what your going through!! I went through a phase in my OCD where I doubted the existence of God! It scared me to death!! I can't be happy unless i know that God is with me because I need him so badly to help me get through daily struggles with OCD, plus I want to feel his presence and love!! it is so hard for me to feel God with my OCD because all i do is doubt EVERYTHING!!! its very hard! i will pray for you!

There is hope! I did get over that certain doubt however!

Thanks you guys but I don't understand don't both parties have to do a little for there to be a relationship. I mean Atheists don't think about God how am I different from them?

Because Atheists don't believe any God(s) exist. None. (and it doesn't bother them), unlike you or Raven , .... If you didn't care and wanted to be Atheists, you wouldn't be here on these boards, searching, looking, caring, wondering. Don't be be so dang hard on yourself. You both need to give this problem to God, trust Him, that He will "guide" you, protect you and "love" you. That is all you can do. Coming here, asking questions, upon questions, and seeking reassurance, only strengthens your fear. It solidifies it. You need to move with it, let it be and as hard as it may seem, let your fear/doubt be there, BUT also know that God loves you and you are in His clutches and nothing in Heaven, Hell or here will ever take you away from Him, because He is God.
