OC Jerusalem and Lake of Fire

I believe the Lake of Fire is in the realm of the spirit. I do not believe it is associated with OC Jerusalem. I believe it's infinitely more spiritual than that. It has to do with evil and the evil realm we may not even see, the realm of satan and his minions, and the hold he has on this world, and all those that follow him. The lake of Fire is for "him", his minions, and those he has shackled with him when he is thrown into the Lake of fire.

I believe it is to come.

How can it be spiritual if Satan,the fallen angels and wicked man are thrown into the LOF?

It's either literal or symbolic/spiritual.

Seems like it would have been better if the Devil would have been thrown in the same time these 2 characters were [or will be.....]

Reve 19:20 and is arrested the Beast and with it the False Prophet, the one doing the signs in view of it, in which has deceived the ones getting the mark of the beast and the ones worshipping to the image of it. Living were cast the two into the Lake of the Fire of the one burning in sulphur/qeiw <2303>.

Sodom's fire is said to be eternal. If Revelation's Babylon is said to burn forever, how is that different?

Because I think the lake of fire is symbolic of death, Paul said that the wages of sin is death and if someone were to be put into a lake of fire, they would die.

So I am hovering between "I don't know" and "I think it's death."

Can you change my answer to No?

You're welcome! I will respond moreso later this evening (pacific time) as I am limited here at work.

OK....first, I am a preterist, so if that offends anyone, so be it. I view the destruction of Jerusalem (temple and all) as symbolic of the Holy Spirit having been contained in the Temple, bursting out (destruction of Jerusalem) and spreading all over the world....available for all. So, the world as it was.....is no more, now a new world is here, the kingdom of God where the Holy Spirit is available for everyone not just a select few.

So, when I read your title of OC Jerusalem being the lake of fire, I read it as the old being refined in the fire (hell) and being made new and different.

Sorry for the scatter brained response, my mind is elsewhere this evening.
