It is, however, an accurate quote from Gates, wherein he points that Trump is unfit to be commander-in-chief.

And it also points out that even though he's a republican and Biden is a democrat, he praises Biden in spite of their policy differences.

Yeah, both Obama and Biden like working with capable people, even if they were republicans. It's one of the big reasons why Biden has the skills needed to bring the country back together. And Trump's willful ignorance and undisciplined temperment is why Gates considers Donald Trump to be unfit:

"At least on national security, I believe Mr. Trump is beyond repair. He is stubbornly uninformed about the world and how to lead our country and government, and temperamentally unsuited to lead our men and women in uniform. He is unqualified and unfit to be commander-in-chief."
