Will journalistic standards ever be restored?
Some might say journalistic standards have never been all that high. The problem with a free press is that there will always be strife and competing factions. It's actually a good thing.

It's up to individuals to seek out information sources which are both truthful and accurate.

One might suspect that that a stodgy old failing newspaper owned by "upper class" elitists, that newspaper which barely survived bankruptcy only by being bailed out by the "richest person in the world" - that person having made his wealth at the expense of his fellow countrymen who endure in abject poverty - now one might suspect that such a newspaper might be just a little bit lacking in both candor and credibility.

I think that all of America was upset that last year's extremely credible accusations were not investigated thoroughly and in full before the confirmation vote. Great efforts were taken to prevent the FBI from doing its job.

I would have thought that Kavanaugh would have supported such a comprehensive investigation so that his name could be cleared. After all, he was declaring his complete innocence.

The story has never died because the confirmation process was tainted. A Congressional investigation can serve to clear him--or condemn all of his Senatorial accomplices.

Indeed it was - by a vicious smear campaign. When you're the target of one of those, your name is never really cleared.

I agree. DeBlasi Ford paid a terrible price for her honesty. She received death threats and had to move out of her home and go into hiding. All by those who wanted his confirmation process to be a rubber stamp! Shame on them!

It's not just her friends, she herself has spoken out recently as well. She simply held back a little while seeking support from friends and family before speaking out.

She claims no memory of any such incident as described by the New York Times.

If you have another alleged incident you wish to discuss, please lay it out for us.
Well, there's the incident at the heart of the bombshell piece, you know, the incident involving the woman named Deborah Ramirez.

I suggest reading the actual article (the link is in the OP) rather than reading commentary about the article.

NYT said:
At least seven people, including Ms. Ramirez’s mother, heard about the Yale incident long before Mr. Kavanaugh was a federal judge. Two of those people were classmates who learned of it just days after the party occurred, suggesting that it was discussed among students at the time.
