Dream sequence? epilogue? Finally passed 40k - but I'm into my last chapter!![]()
Serious padding now needed and I already know more about prehistoric harps than I ever wanted to know.![]()
I've done the dream thing once already. Fantasy the way I do it is rather prone to that. Prologue maybe. I can't do an epilogue. My story insisted on being in the first person & while I don't exactly kill off my MC she certainly can't write any epilogues. You'd think after all those years writing set words for uni I could manage a bit better that that. 10 000 short is a tad out there.Dream sequence? epilogue?
I wound up writing an epilogue. Decided the story needed one.
Oh, Thanks. When I outlined this before the event, I planned on about 150K words for my 1st draft--and I'll be right on target. Running out of story's not my problem on this one. Broke 47K yesterday, so yeah, I'll make the nano goal. Quantity has never been my problem. Quality, however........43K may not feel like it, but you're definitely on the downhill slide. Even if you feel like you're running out of story, you'll get there for sure.
I agree with ravenscape. If you've got a story to tell, by all means keep writing. At least NaNo got you motivated to make a solid start, and you can keep writing and polishing far beyond 11/30.I've got 16k. I'm torn. Push it or just toss out this year?
