Well they say you can't legislate morality, but if God can put the Ten Commandments on His books, then we can surely put Prohibition on ours.

We did. Didn't work. Even you can't be that proudly ignorant.

In short, when the LORD returns, I'd like there to be some legislation on our books against certain sins.

Knowing full well you'll get the Lion's share of the punishment?

I've only been doing that for nine years.
Then in what language was the original Bible written?

The King James Bible is the last in the line of God-superintended, God-preserved, earthly Translations.
Why does the last in the line of God-superintended, God-preserved, earthly Translations have errors?

Because the Satanically-inspired Wrong's Concordance says it was?
Empty claim. You have nothing to show that Strong's either Satanically inspired or incorrect.

I don't. I can see it in the original Greek.
Would that be Koine or Classical Greek?
So can you.
No, actually, I can't.

I would need to rely on an interpreter of tongues for that.

We used to have a poster here named Hespera who once made the point that, in China, they wear shirts with American sayings on them, and we wear headbands with Chinese sayings on them.

She said some of the Chinese sayings ... if we really knew what they were saying ... we wouldn't be wearing them.

Satan is like that, and he gave us Strong's Concordance to muddy the waters.

Why would I?

You think Satan would put his name on it?

The KJVO movement throws a monkey wrench into one of his best works.

Satan didn't put his name on the King James Version either.

I've drank beer before ... many times

Yet I don't know what beer tastes like.

Can you make sense of this?

Beer tastes like beer, just like chicken tastes like chicken.

Satan owns the entire world and everything in it, doesn't need to put his name on anything. And there's only one way to get off his ledger of accounts.

"8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

Beer tastes like beer,
The answer to my OP is that I've tasted root beer before, yet I don't know what alcoholic beer tastes like.

In other words, it shows that "beer" can be both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Suppose someone goes to a wedding feast and turns water into [root] beer, then years later, the default position on "beer" is an alcoholic drink.

People would swear that person turned water into alcohol.

Simply wine was what people drank. Not like someone today would go out and have multiple drinks. They drank it at meals and like modern man would drink a glass of juice, milk or water during the day.

In those times its use was not strictly as a beverage for intoxication. This is what people confuse it with - that drinking alcohol today had the same connotation then. And yes, they drank water more often - as wine was not cheap.

2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Satan being a "god" no more makes him the ultimate "God." Anymore of course than Jesus being the image of God, makes him God - as we are the image of.

It is thru this deception, that millions will bow down before him, even the elect, when he comes claiming to be Jesus himself. Having believed there is more than One God, they will bow.

If I sell you a car - that does not mean the car happened because of you - you own it, you did not create it. A temporary purchase, which under the clause will revert back to the original ownership when the trustee expires.

Then why do so many run to Strong's Concordance for guidance?

Why is it one needs two books to understand what God said?

How many books did you go through to justify your belief that the Jews didn't drink alcoholic wine at weddings?

Why did you read more than one science book about a subject? So if your definitions are in one book, you would never resort to that book to define what the words mean? Just let people insert whatever interpretation they so desire?

That's what got us in the mess we are in right now, people want to say words meant whatever suits their fancy at the time.

Just as had you pointed people to a reference about root beer and beer, their would not have been 20 million interpretations of what you meant. Only less information is bad.

I have to agree with you.

Using John 2 to justify recreational drinking is like using hospitals to justify taking LSD recreationally.

God created the earth, then handed it over to Adam.

Adam handed it over to Satan.

Satan attempted to hand it over to Jesus (with strings attached).

Jesus refused, but will come back later to take it by force.

Of course. People want wine at their wedding. Not grape juice.
My wife and I didn't.

We wouldn't allow alcohol on the premises.

And we won't attend weddings, etc. that serve alcohol.
